This mornining my laptop was working fine, but when n I turned it on this morning, my screen was dark. I thought my whole screen was broken, but I noticed that I was able to see a faint of texts. I think my backlight or inverter is broken. I called my warranty center and they told me I would get my laptop back in around 20 days if I send it in to get fixed. I really don't want to do that.
I tried the battery out, 30 second trick, but that doesn't work.
My only other option is to get it fixed locally.
What I want to know is isif there is any other way to get this fixed manually (wihtout having to change parts). If not, how much would it cost me to get my inverterer or backlight fixed?
Sorry for any typos, I can't see my screen.
None.
It depends on what type of laptop. I had a buddy that had to replace his backlight and it was going to cost him about $100. It can be higher though.
Relatively ancient and inactive
SEN isn't the place to ask this. I'd send it in for repairs.
None.
Im just wondering how you can type all of this or even log into SEN if there is absolutely no backlight.
Any LED backlit screen without a backlight is impossible to see...
Either way, thats prolly it. Best bet is to send it in like cent said.
None.
If it is under warranty that is probably the best option... Any self-fixes will likely void the warranty, and if you have future problems you may still want it. I'd think the 20 days or whatever is worth it if you are going to be without it being usable anyway.

Since I have the money, I think I'm just going to send it to a local shop to get it fixed.
Time is money for me, so waiting 20 days just for the warranty is not worth it. I still have about 5 months of warranty left, so I'm going to save it until my whole laptop breaks.
None.
local computer shop voids the warranty.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Man I really don't want to be without a laptop for 20 days. Maybe I should go buy my Ipod Touch or Droid soon.
None.
You are already without a laptop right now. The longer you wait, the longer you are without a laptop. At my college, I could give the laptop to the bookstore and they'd give me a replacement while I waited for mine to be fixed.
