While using a DVI>HDMI cable I recently got, my monitor won't shut off when the screensaver turns on in my computer. It shuts off normally when I use the DVI or VGA inputs... but not HDMI. My monitor is an ASUS VH198T at 1920x1080 resolution if that helps...
None.
What is on the screen at this time you are saying it should be going off? Is it something from the computer or something it displays on the monitor when there is no signal from the computer?
None.
its just whatever is displayed at the time the screen saver goes on... could be the b.net lobby... could be facebook. Anything.
None.
How do you know the screensaver is coming on?
tits
why else would the screen start saying "No Signal" after 5 minutes. My screensaver is set to turn on after 5 minutes.
None.
So do you really mean that the monitor is displaying "no signal" on the screen and isn't going off? Or did you mean in your earlier message that the screen saver isn't showing up on the screen either?
If it is the former and not the latter, it may just be what the monitor was designed to do.
None.
hmmm... I see what I said could be a bit confusing. What a normal monitor would do when the screensaver goes on would be to shut off and have the little orange light go on instead of the blue one. What my monitor does when the computer is off or the screensaver is on is display "No Signal" bouncing around the screen and a completely blue screen. I'm starting to think its my monitor and they made the HDMI input so it was like a temporary use for movies and crap...
None.
I think that is typical of the HDMI input on current Asus displays that have HDMI.
None.
HDMI doesn't shut off due to sound not shutting off.
It's good for TVs, not for computers. this sounds like a) a problem with your settings, or b) a manufacturer oversight. Have you googled?
