OVERWATCH STATUS GO

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - Patch 1.1.3

General:
  • New game categories have been added to filter Tower Defense and Tug of War custom maps.

Balance:

TERRAN
  • Thor
    • This unit will now prioritize attacking ground combat units over Medivacs.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a desync that could occur when trying to watch replays that had a dependency on bank files.

Wow. Now all those replays I want to watch will require a reboot of SC. All so that Thors get a little stronger.

I would appreciate a patch like being able to HOST REPLAYS or some other useful shit. Or or, how about those damn CHAT CHANNELS. /annoyed

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

Yeah, this is lame. They've offered up so much info about future patches and it seems like an eternity until we see them.

Yeah... I wouldn't really call this a patch. This is more like half their team called in sick and the deadline approached too quickly...

Why not just give us a 'Search Box' instead of tediously creating 'categories' for us to filter the custom maps with?

So, now in the rare occasion in which a Terran Vs Terran match devolves into MMM+Tanks Vs MMM+Thors, the 2 or 3 Thors will not use their *better* air attack? Sigh Blizzard, pull the finger out please.

Magic box god; Suck it Corbo

...

This is the reason I haven't played SC2 since September... I don't understand why they aren't patching what's important instead of a priority issue for a single unit.

:payne:

 I kept seeing "This download is not authorized" in the progression bar (though it still kept going on).
Oh! And don't forget to close your editor while updating the patch.

Call me back when they say

GENERAL:
  • We realize we were being humongous douchebags, so we've decided to put back Chat Channels, LAN support, and a whole lot of other things that should've been added/removed/fixed prior to the release of Crap.Net 2.

In other words... this patch = shmeh

They're never going to put LAN in, so I don't know why you keep acting like they're "going to wake up" and do it.

Who knows?
Btw, Sixen, who pretends having an official Blizzard staff source, says Custom Game Names will never be seen in Battle.net 2.0

Judging by the rate at which we get non-essential (pointless) patches... You don't need to pretend to have an official source to know that there are things which Starcraft 2 will never have:
  • Cross-regional online play. Self-explanatory. More regions = less server bandwidth required = more sales.
  • Local Area Network (LAN) support. Self-explanatory. All your game are belong to Battle.net 2.0.

Having said this though... There are a few things which Blizzard have said they will implement. And, just because they say they will do it, doesn't mean they have to do it and also it implies that they can do it whenever they feel like it. Ie. 2 years down the line.
  • Chat Channels - source: BlizzCon 2010 and official Blue Posts. Should be implemented before 2011. Fingers crossed they do it properly.
  • Clan Tags - sources: unknown, I remember reading it somewhere. Their official stance (IIRC) was the same as many other implementations: "We will look into adding [this feature] in a future patch."
  • Mouse Position functionality - sources: BlizzCon 2010 and official Blue Posts. Should be implemented in the next 'major patch'.
  • Reduced key-press generated lag - sources: BlizzCon 2010. Official stance: "we will maybe pull our fingers out and give you what you want, sometime in the unforeseeable future".
