Just kidding. Good to finally have LD
None.
so can I have moose think I'm demaris and ask me if I want to moderate it again?
Now I can finally make topics knowing it won't be filled with joke posts and one liners! (hopefully) I was afraid of SD because it was so strict and seemed so easy to get severity in there Lite Discussion is exactly the same as Serious Discussion, sorry to disappoint. Hyper-strict moderation is already present.

I don't think that moderators are moderating without good reasons, or is this a strict site?

There's this stigma about the "Serious Discussion" forum that it is super strict, because (I guess over a year ago now?) when I started moderating there it was full of all sorts of shitty posting and I deleted a lot of posts, driving a lot of people away because they thought I was extremely strict. Because of that, people suggested bringing back LD, mostly to get around my actually enforcing rules. It was decided in the staff forum that LD would be redundant, since there were supposed to be rules in Null too, so any topic would be appropriate in either SD or Null. Despite the fact that I haven't been a moderator for quite a while now, the stigma about strictness in SD remains. I don't know the rationale for bringing LD back at this point in time, but it can be a good middle ground between SD and Null, and I'm sure Devlin/and/or the staff have their reasons. The strictness thing was always about me and SD as far as I know though, except for the random folks who get all worked up over being moderated now and again and make a big deal out of it.

Relatively ancient and inactive
I'm always right anywhere, SD or LD. Deal with it, newbies.
That said, goody. I probably supported this for a while.

Go take a cold shower.
The LD doesn't even have rules written yet. Any sort of moderation is going to be on the fly as such. I'm sure DBTK and I have a good sense of what should be in the LD, so any sort of griping towards moderation will probably be for the sake of griping more than anything (or because someone didn't get their way).

Well SEN tries to enforce above average posting quality, especially in more serious topics. Facebook style doesn't fly here.
So basically if you're adding to the discussion you have nothing to fear, if you're just posting for the sake of it without any meaningful content, don't be surprised to get moderated.
Thank you for that relevant and insightful advice, given after the context of my statement was edited out

What it basically came down to was an upsurge of topics that required more moderation but resided in Null because they weren't up to SD's standards. Now people can talk seriously about things that may not be right for SD, without the clutter of Null.

My "Buoyancy" topic indeed does feel more at-the-right-place now!
