One day I was making a singleplayer RPG and I wanted a new way of casting spells. I don't know if someone has done this already so I'm not gonna say original. It's fairly simple when it comes to the triggers. Everything is pretty self explanatory. Hold space to execute a gesture and once you have highlighted 3 spots it'll execute that gesture. If the gesture is triggered (there are three) a death animation will pop up. I only triggered 3 spots max because I thought it was a nice number and thats really all I needed.

If you want to add a new gesture Copy a trigger under »Gestures and change the !place1, !place2, !place3 DCs accordingly and change the !gesture to the next consecutive number. For example. If you wanted to make gesture 3,5,1 it would look like this:
Conditions:
!place1=3
!place2=5
!place3=1
Actions:
Clear !place DCs
Set !gesture to 4 (because there are already 3 gestures triggered and this is the fourth one).

Once you've done that you can make actions based off of the !gesture DC.

The gestures that I triggered are [4,3,2] [1,6,5] [2,5,1]

Oh brilliant!

I'm totally stealing this for my RPG if I ever finish it. Excellent idea, and since you've already coded it anyone else can just copy//paste and modify the triggers to use them. It's going to be great for puzzles, or spellcasting, or pretty much whatever! :interested:

Post up a screenshot so people can see what the heck this is.

I am also interested about this.
In fact, this is a great thing because there is no need for additional units (like a Dropship or a Bunker with units loaded into that must be unloaded for a spell or action to work) for spells nor the need of hot-key selection, one has just to press the Space button and move his mouse to get the desired effect. However, much more triggers need to be used if I am not wrong.

As a matter of fact not many triggers need to be used. The actual system that detects where the mouse is and displays the text and all that is about 45 triggers. The trigger count only depends on how many gestures you want to implement and 1 gesture= 1 trigger so it's pretty low on the trigger count I'd say. And yes no units are needed if this is used, Like I said, in the RPG I was makin this was going to be the only Interface used.
