Backround
Queens have unused for quite some time...
For e.g. Queens ensare abilities allow them to prevent marines from flanking lurkers and combined with defilers dark swarm, perhaps scourge for those pesky sci vessels your army will make quick work of there's.

Perhaps even to ensare pesky sair army to let scourages make quick work of them...

Truth hurts. Maybe not as much as jumping on a bicycle with a seat missing, but it hurts.

You are not ZerO :P ; you most likely cannot use queens as effectively as he could against an opponent of equal skill level. He's pretty much famous for making use of queens and it's been known for a while.

Ensnare is good, but you have to tech up to it. If you are against terran players or protoss players, you would obtain the queen's nest along the way to hive tech, so it's up to you to sacrifice a few scourge/defilers to get queens if you believe it to be worth the cost. Spawn broodlings has marginal utility against terran players since their only expensive ground unit is the Siege Tank (and you would need to broodling the tank without getting killed by the MM mass in front of it), Their main spellcaster remains the science vessel, which needs to be taken out by scourge. As for using ensnare to disable stim and slow the DPS of the marine mass... dark swarm is much better. Maybe helpful if you ensnare rines to slow escape, but I don't see it being used effectively.

Against protoss players, massed sairs (lol) can be killed by a few hydras, and if they're still massing sairs when you are at hive tech (lmfao), devourer + muta/hydra will own them without a problem. Sair-DT is easily countered with a 5 hatch hydra transition and you CANNOT expect to kill the opponent with just sairs and dts. If they let you kill all of their overlords, they would already suck anyways. Trying to ensnare sairs is just suiciding a 100 gas unit.

Spawn Broodlings should be the only reason you get queens in ZvP; broodling one high templar and the queen paid for itself, and you should be able to keep it alive since queens are extremely fast air units. Getting rid of the enemy's psionic storm support is crucial for your hydra army.

Jaedong and the Art of the Queen.

Check 15:55. or watch the whole vid, whichever you have time for.

Even though most people don't like snare, it's a good way to set up for the DS. Snaring sairs allows for faster pursuit by scrouges. Also, most ppl try to hydra dance around storm rather than just sitting there. xp

That was 2 years ago; if you want to see massive queen use, just watch ZerO's replays.

The point here though, is that you should not try emulating a strategy just because a progamer can do it and do it well. No one here is anywhere near that skill level yet.

I do agree with you but there is this still some application for some use with lower tier players
