Beta Testing Phase 2 has started!!




According to some German sources *cough* Devourer *cough* , a new patch has been released by Blizzard!

Time to finally test our maps online! :massimo:

(For now, US servers cannot download the patch yet, but it shouldn't take long. In the end, this news is only to warn you guys that it is coming soon!)
Teasers are teasers. :awesome:

Patch 17's content known so far:

- Completely new Sound Effects (major improvement, while the cancel sound is now terrible I think)
- Blue cursor instead of green.
- Blueish look in the option menu
*Option Screen:
- Graphics: page now shows a function for Vertical Sync & Reduce Mouse lag
- Sound page: now shows movements sounds and respondse sounds as seperate tag boxes.
- Voice page: Using voicechat you can seperately adjust sound vs Music in relation to the voice chat.
- Gameplay page: There are more options (atleast for Mac):
1) Disable OS Keyboard Shortcuts
2) Swap Control and Command Keys (CMD instead of CTRL, this is great!!!)
3) Reduced Violence: hehe, less gore and stuff.

-Hotkey Page: Well I can still not change my hotkeys, but it shows more different commands to hotkey to.
- There is a new tab called Battle.net:
Shows a list of "blocked Real ID Friend Request, Blocked Communication, they moved the mature language filter to this tab, and there is a button "Logout of Facebook!"
- Map editors: new destructible rocks, roads, and cliffs found via hacking files
- The new patch ships with all the maps and map files
- There are now 7 "2 player maps", 10 "4 player maps", 1 "6 player map" and 1 "8 player map"
- 2 new 4 player maps: Monylyth Ridge and Tarsonis Assault

- All of the difficulties are in, 6 in total
- The harder AI difficulties declare the various strategies they can make

To download the patch if you aren't from EU server (it is only available there):
Quote from Syphon (SEN)
StarCraft II Beta/Support/realmlist.stf and change US to EU.
Open SC2 and download the patch.
Change back to US.

Hello

So, I've seen many new .dds files written, maybe there is a graphical update?
Additionally, the editor got a new icon and the userinterface of the editor changed, cannot take a closer look as "i have to log into b-net before using the editor".

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

According to the best German starcraft site, the Ultralisk models were taken out of the game and Lurker models came back.
Will we see the Lurker back in sc2 multiplayer?

edit:
that may be untrue because the actual .../ultralisk.m3 file size raised to 1583kb... updated model?
can't find lurker models.... do you?

To download the patch in the US, open up StarCraft II Beta/Support/realmlist.stf and change US to EU.

Sweet, my SC2 closes every time I launch it, and it doesn't even open up the launcher anymore. Gooooood times.

Mine patched to patch 15 and now displays "Invalid version" when I try to login.

Hello

They also used Mind-Control for "Frenzy" (the now removed ability)... it said something like "target is immune to Stuns and Mindcontrols for 30 seconds..." :P

Frenzy is about increasing attack speed.
You probably mean "Neural Parasite" ?
