6v6 mode is up. Who wants to try that LoL tournament again?

Honestly right now, besides the ridiculous amount of things she brings as a champion, probably removing one of the stacks on her ult is probably the only thing I can think of that would fix her, without completely removing an entire skill she has.

What about making her more vulnerable by making her shroud smaller (thus making her more vulnerable to skill shots in it, but any reduction could probably only be small due to other effects it would have) or lowering the time you stay invisible after leaving?

See thats my complaint about her. She'd actually be no threat without the shroud, but most champions require it to be gone just to do damage, primarily because of its broken and prevents auto attacks and most click spell casts.

If you have low enough ping and click fast enough, you can hit her each time she becomes visible from attacking, but only enough for one or two hits each time, depending on what you have.
Akali IS broken in Normal Queue, however in Draft Mode if she's not the last pick she's retardedly easy to counter. Lee Sin, a PROPER support player (meaning, someone who buys oracles and protects the squishy AD carry (and AP carry to a lesser extent)) both counter her; there's more I just can't think of them. Game isn't balanced for Normal Queue play. And in laning against an Akali, your best bet is on your first back pick up a vision ward - it's worth it. Harrass her, I don't give a fuck how much spell vamp she has, if you deny her the ability to get near the creeps she can't heal very much now can she? Stay out of her shroud, if you go into the shroud she gets a free Q + Autoattack off on you. After level 6 she gets a gap closer, so after she marks you with a Q you better be ready to either stun her, outburst her, or just stay away from her all together until it wears off. Her Q has a range of around 650 IIRC, if you're wondering.
A lot of people also don't understand how her skills work. Here's a breakdown: Akali has two passives, each of which are unlocked by obtaining 10 AD for her 10% spell vamp, or 20AP for a damage boost on her autoattack. This increases with the more AD/AP you have.
Akali's Q is what most of her burst comes from. That's the spinny thing she throws at you, marking you for ~5 seconds. After she lands this on you her next autoattack deals a ridiculous amount of damage. STAY AWAY AFTER THIS HITS.
Akali's W is her shroud, 'nuff said. She gets a moderate armor/magic resist buff while in the shroud (increases by 10 each level put into it IIRC). Don't walk into this if you value your health bar.
Akali's E is the AoE attack she does. It's not particularly useful until she has a lich bane apart from adding some extra burst to her attacks and farming/healing.
Finally, Akali's R is her kick. At level 6 she gets the ability to kick towards an enemy unit, with about 800 range. Basically it's a glorified gap closer. The catch with this ability is that instead of using Energy, it runs off of an ammo system. Every ~20 seconds she gets another kick, up to a maximum of 3. This ability is when akali gets nasty, allowing her to get Q hits off quite easily.

Deserved nerfs and buffs so far, minus Shaco's small buff. Largest buff award goes to Skarner. Hardest nerf reward goes to Gunblade, though it deserved it (and the lifesteal is still not unique).
