All time favorite. Whether if your a fanboy of the company or are just pleased when this company comes up on top of the list for "best performance to price ratio of the storage capacity tier i'm looking at".
Personally I love seagate. From early on in life, people around me had issues with WD drives. Maxtor harddrives gave me no issues what so ever and the many I have had over the years still work. When Maxtor was eaten by Seagate, I reluctantly started buying from them but I haven't had an issue so far, same long lasting performance.

WesternDigital. I have an XHDD and a HDD, both 1tb, both amazing. Great speeds, price, just everything.

I voted WD! I have never had a WD fail on me.

WD. Seagate hasn't been good for a long time, and there's no reason to go anywhere other than WD.
I've always liked WD from the start, probably because they were one of the few drives I could just look at and tell how big it was without having to get out the magnifying glass, nowadays I enjoy their fairly cheap prices and decent performance. I've scrapped hundreds of hard drives, and Western Digital is definitely rarely scrapped.

My old Seagate Barracuda has served me very well. I'm currently waiting for a delivery of a WD drive so I will withhold judgement for now.
I did once have an external WD drive but I knelt on it one day and caused a head crash.

Thanks to Excal, I solely rely on Western Digital for my harddrives.

And this is why if companies would take warranty, RMA, and buyer loyalty to heart, they'd realize Guy 1 usually recommends a product to Guy 2, and that can help business immensely.
or they could just make a really good product in the first place like seasonic, lian li, and (to a lesser extent) ati.
