I heard that there was supposed to be some sort of way to store information on blizzard's servers using triggers, for example saved profiles for an RPG. Is there any way to use this with the current editor?

I'm not entirely certain how it works, but something like that... It's the "Banks" within the editor.

From what I can tell, it stores the Bank locally, not on battle.net. This is highly annoying.

Perhaps, in the future, Blizzard will be kind enough to allocate some server-side storage space for each user, allowing custom maps to use it for securely storing game data and characters. Well yeah, it's not complete yet. Just like how we can't publish maps yet, :P. If they hadn't planned on doing that, they wouldn't have mentioned it.
