Sup SEN, Recently some friends of mine were looking into getting longboards. Up here in Northern NJ there is a shortage of flatland, ramps, and good pavement so most regular skateboarders are out of luck. Longboards being better for hills and not so smooth pavement seemed ideal and yesterday we drove from Sussex to Newton to the Original Skateboards HQ. At the time I wasn't planning on getting a board as I wasn't interested (After trying my friends board for 30 seconds I HAD to have one.). I figured 'Eh it's probably just like a big skateboard' but I learned later that day through riding and talking with Brian Bishop and Scott Imbrie that its more akin to snowboards and surfboards. Yeah, the Original Skateboard team dudes skated with us it was awesome. They told us that 90% of their customers were online and they get very few walk-ins. This was supported by the fact that their 'offices' were all custom, had lots of room, and everyone was really laid back. Scott had a nice build inside an RC 690 (Same case I have) and we talked computers for a bit too. I might even be getting a job there.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone else on SEN longboards and to show Original and their videos to you guys.
Currently saving up some cash to get myself a Custom 35.

A friend of mine bought a longboard last summer. It goes pretty fast compared to a regular skateboard and you don't stop up because of a little bit rubble on the road. Personally I prefer skateboards, because then you can do tricks No, I'm not any good, I've never even owned a skateboard myself.
Holy crap, i thought i was the only one. I started longboarding back in 2008 and have been bombing hills and cruising ever since. I wouldnt say i'm fantastic but I can do some simple powerslides and a bit of cross stepping. I usually go for about an hour every day. You should definitely get a board, basically a fantastic way of commuting. The only problem is all the posers and retards at my school that get boards to be cool.

I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, i would prefer skateboards for tricks, but you can definitely do tricks on a longboard. There's all sorts of dancing, slides, manuals, and a whole bunch of weird made-up tricks.
I'm going back to Original today. I plan to walk out of there with a stock Derringer 28 (All I can afford right now) and a job.

Looks pretty bad ass. I like snowboarding, although I've been a bit slack about it lately. How do you intend to deal with the sun?
Shades, sleeves, and pants. Anyway having a lot of skin out when you're longboarding can be a bad idea, because when you fall (And you will fall.), bare skin is going to get a lot more scraped up.

Dude there is a snowboard/pavement sport too!!! Its called free boarding its setup so you can do the same thing with it as a snowboard. Check it out on Google.
Its way better then long boarding, you can turn your board completely sideways like you can on a snowboard.
Trust me its not the same........ This is actually on barrings and it works just like a snowboard for pavement. Just google it.
I already did and I stand by my statement, it is exactly the same. It just takes a bit more skill to do it with a longboard because it doesn't have those really dumb looking wheels the freeboards have behind the trucks.

Oh yeah! I remember seeing that shit a few years back. I thought it was awesome. My concern was just that if you fell when hauling ass on one of those, you'd be really hurt. The nice thing about snowboarding is that you've got a nice soft surface to fall on. It's cool to see the general aspects of carving on dry land though. :3
Although, for Ex, I think the longboard is more fitting, because the freeboard requires hills, since you're strapped in.
Oh_Man shouted: yeah i'm tryin to go through all the greatest hits and get the runs up on youtube so my senile ass can appreciate them more readily
You should do my Delirus map too; it's a little cocky to say but I still think it's actually just a good game lol
