[2014-10-16. : 9:22 pm]
Generalpie -- It's stopped now, but sometimes I move the desk or accidentally scoot my chair too far and hit the desk, and it makes that noise again
[2014-10-16. : 9:21 pm]
Generalpie -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: I had to rearrange some cables internally when a fan started hitting one of them. That was a very grindy noise.
Nothing's near the fan. The fan cable goes into a hole designed for case fan cables and pops out the other side of the case near the PSU
[2014-10-16. : 9:20 pm]
Generalpie -- The case is an open design, and I can get into all the nooks and crannies just by opening both sides and dusting the place out
[2014-10-16. : 9:20 pm]
Generalpie -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Did you plug everything back in properly?
I only disconnected the SATA data and power cables to my old drive and slid the new drive in and plugged those into this one
[2014-10-16. : 9:11 pm]
Moose -- Definitely open it up and look at what's going on.
[2014-10-16. : 9:09 pm]
Moose -- I had to rearrange some cables internally when a fan started hitting one of them. That was a very grindy noise.
[2014-10-16. : 9:01 pm]
Dem0n -- Did you plug everything back in properly?
[2014-10-16. : 8:54 pm]
Generalpie -- Any idea what that could be?
[2014-10-16. : 8:54 pm]
Generalpie -- My case fan keeps making this grinding noise since I air dusted my computer last night
[2014-10-16. : 8:38 pm]
Dem0n -- rekt
[2014-10-16. : 8:33 pm]
Roy -- Welcome to the unlucky list, population: you.
[2014-10-16. : 7:58 pm]
Generalpie -- That's the 8th 0 box in a row ;w;
[2014-10-16. : 7:58 pm]
Generalpie -- GOD DAMNIT.
[2014-10-16. : 7:54 pm]
Dem0n -- payne
payne shouted: anyone can PM me a link so that I can sart watching Walking Dead?
do you not know how to use the internet? :O
[2014-10-16. : 6:38 pm]
payne -- screw 0 boxes :(
[2014-10-16. : 6:35 pm]
payne -- anyone can PM me a link so that I can sart watching Walking Dead?
[2014-10-16. : 6:35 pm]
payne -- hey
[2014-10-16. : 6:28 pm]
Wing Zero -- I think it'd be fine with a positive multiplier
[2014-10-16. : 6:22 pm]
Vrael -- Az maybe they just want more people to participate -per round- but less people to participate overall?
[2014-10-16. : 6:21 pm]
Vrael -- POTATO
[2014-10-16. : 5:53 pm]
Roy -- We could switch it back to the old model, I guess.
[2014-10-16. : 4:35 pm]
Dem0n -- az just rekt everyone :prof:
[2014-10-16. : 4:21 pm]
Apos -- Mornin'
[2014-10-16. : 3:32 pm]
Azrael -- Doesn't take a professor of statistics to tell you that the formula's not right and the game isn't designed correctly.
[2014-10-16. : 3:32 pm]
Azrael -- This raffle is 0.48.
[2014-10-16. : 3:31 pm]
Azrael -- Even in casinos, games are generally around 0.9 or higher (lower numbers are less fair).
[2014-10-16. : 3:31 pm]
Azrael -- A fair game is defined as "1" when you multiply those two values together.
[2014-10-16. : 3:30 pm]
Azrael -- If you enter the raffle now, the current odds of winning are 1/5, and the payout is 2.4 times.
[2014-10-16. : 3:26 pm]
Azrael -- If only we had people here who had any experience with game design. HMMMM.
[2014-10-16. : 3:26 pm]
Azrael -- So of those 40 minerals spent on tickets, 26 are being deleted for no apparent reason.
[2014-10-16. : 3:25 pm]
Azrael -- Yeah, it'd kind of ridiculous that the jackpot is currently "24", even though the base jackpot is "10" and 4 people have bought tickets.
[2014-10-16. : 3:24 pm]
sigsaucy -- especially since your contribution already gets halved when added to the pot for some reason
[2014-10-16. : 3:22 pm]
sigsaucy -- i agree
[2014-10-16. : 3:21 pm]
Azrael -- Just saying. It's straightforward bad design.
[2014-10-16. : 3:21 pm]
Azrael -- Having a feature that makes people not want to participate in any given raffle doesn't fit well with the apparent desire to get more people to participate.
[2014-10-16. : 3:19 pm]
Azrael -- "You'll lose minerals on this raffle, because lol random. But also, the raffles aren't very often because we want more people to participate. So just sit tight and maybe in a few weeks you'll see one worth playing. You'll keep paying attention for that long, right?"
[2014-10-16. : 3:19 pm]
Azrael -- Roy
Roy shouted: trgk The raffle multiplier is randomized. Some games are more profitable than others.
Doesn't that seem pretty unnecessary and pointless? At least the random range should remain at 1+.
[2014-10-16. : 2:57 pm]
jjf28 -- sigsaucy
sigsaucy shouted: went to a career fair today; expected to be treated like royalty with phd in math; get shown up by cs kids in button up shirts
pheer my l33t button up
[2014-10-16. : 2:44 pm]
Wing Zero -- and to be fair, I think that raffle had a 40 mineral buy-in
[2014-10-16. : 2:17 pm]
Wing Zero -- I only just got 15 back
[2014-10-16. : 2:17 pm]
Wing Zero -- Spent my last mineral on it
[2014-10-16. : 2:17 pm]
Wing Zero -- yeah that raffle killed me
[2014-10-16. : 1:00 pm]
Roy -- Also, when we had the raffle multiplier at 1.2, the total jackpot got up to like 800 minerals.
[2014-10-16. : 12:59 pm]
Roy -- trgk
trgk shouted: Raffle multiplier should be at least 1.4
The raffle multiplier is randomized. Some games are more profitable than others.
[2014-10-16. : 11:31 am]
Generalpie -- Woo, I now have dollar amounts in the Steam store
[2014-10-16. : 10:41 am]
Moose -- sigsaucy
sigsaucy shouted: went to a career fair today; expected to be treated like royalty with phd in math; get shown up by cs kids in button up shirts
rekt. Can't say I didn't warn everyone, though.
[2014-10-16. : 8:15 am]
Lanthanide -- doG fOod liD
[2014-10-16. : 8:15 am]
Lanthanide -- Dog Food Lid
[2014-10-16. : 6:18 am]
sigsaucy -- went to a career fair today; expected to be treated like royalty with phd in math; get shown up by cs kids in button up shirts
[2014-10-16. : 5:25 am]
trgk -- Buttonset is quite tricky to play with;
[2014-10-16. : 5:17 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I was confused at first because generally things that only have 'init' and 'death' in the headers can't call any other headers even if you try, but I forgot that was an images.dat property, and not a property of the header
[2014-10-16. : 5:06 am]
trgk -- Oh I understand thks
[2014-10-16. : 5:06 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- (it has a death header, but no animation assigned)
[2014-10-16. : 5:06 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- doodad iscript only has headers for init, not even death. a building simply being placed calls more headers than that.
[2014-10-16. : 5:05 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Wait, yes, it will definitely crash.
[2014-10-16. : 5:05 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- that will probably crash?
[2014-10-16. : 5:03 am]
trgk -- I'm changing it to 336 (doodad iscript)
[2014-10-16. : 5:03 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- stuff may not crash, but unless you're specifically changing it to something else it most likely will
[2014-10-16. : 5:02 am]
trgk -- :(
[2014-10-16. : 5:02 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- changing it will usually crash
[2014-10-16. : 5:02 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- it's the ID in iscript.bin that the GRP uses
[2014-10-16. : 5:01 am]
trgk -- I'm trying to change iscript of supply depot, but it won't work
[2014-10-16. : 4:44 am]
jjf28 -- trgk
trgk shouted: jjf28 I'm quite doing great at magic boxes.
your comments and the zeros i keep seeing suggest otherwise, but gz :)
[2014-10-16. : 4:30 am]
jjf28 -- Loras is a shit knight, hes been stabbing Renly for years.
[2014-10-16. : 4:15 am]
trgk -- :)
[2014-10-16. : 4:15 am]
trgk -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: man trgk's just losin' hard at SEN games
I'm quite doing great at magic boxes.
[2014-10-16. : 4:15 am]
jjf28 -- though he's right about raffle :kame:
