combination of custom hero wars & storm the fort
equipments (i.e. "spells") don't work yet. still, it can be played as storm the fort. *******the stargate spells work in beta4*******
the following things work: shop units, troops upgrade (i.e. spawn), hero upgrade (different from weapon & armor upgrades), and troops command control (direct your own share of computer troops to certain parts of the map). duel doesn't work yet (--> timer doesn't matter).
Kill computer units, buildings, and enemy players for $$$$. Objective is to destroy the enemy headquarters building. Don't get killed yourself because you lose money & enemies gain money. If you have low hit points, go back to headquarters to heal.
There are 2 sets of "weapons" - primary & 2ndary (instead of having just 4 customizable spells). Primary is standard for everyone & it covers all forms of attack, including concussive, explosive, normal, and air --> zergling can fight air & ghost won't get completely raped by goliath.
plyr units (i.e. heroes - we're trying to break away from the hero wars ideology here) can be upgraded to 2nd level with more hp but similar attack --> at later games with maxed ups, the game is still balanced & heroes don't get rigged.
also, unlike in custom hero wars, spells in the later game will not become completely useless. And there is a limit to maximum number of attack ups & defense. and of course, no spells will be overwhelmingly powerful like they were in custom hero wars (i.e. arbiter's freeze) & there will be new spells like "blind" (which isn't maelstrom - this is more realistically called "taser" in this game) which actually blinds nearby enemy plyrs. they get to look at the pic you see in the thumb nail.
and, spells will be combinable without the risk of stacking - meaning, the problem with custom hero wars was its use of "wait" trigger for making spells & with that you couldn't have multiple spells because that "wait"'s would stack on each other, so the spells that come after the first spell last longer --> rigged. custom hero wars wasn't rigged because it didn't allow spells to stack. Without multiple spells, there was no strategy. Of course, here you won't be able to deploy 2 killer weapons at once, but you could, for example, blind someone and then use a weapon (i.e. again, if you don't get it, "spell") to finish him/her. without the ability to deploy multiple weapons, some spells like "blind" would become completely useless because it wouldn't matter if the enemy player is blinded because s/he can just deploy her killer weapon without knowing what's happening to his/her plyr unit, and s/he would have dealt more damage to you with her weapon than you to him/her with your plyr unit. combat algorithm will not use wait trigger for spells but manual timing.
