File Description
The sequal to Sorcery RPG which blows its predecessor away. 5 Classes of heros with 5 unique spells per class. Earn experience and use your stat points to level up your character in the areas of Health, Mana, Mana Recharge, Spell Mastery, and Reduce Spell Failure. Play solo or as a team to defeat Glandaria and complete 12 other quests along the way. Map is fully playable and takes between 2 and 3 hours to beat. Enjoy and feedback is welcome! Please report any bugs to me. This version was created about 8 months ago and I am thinking of revisiting to squash bugs and polish the map.

Fantastic RPG, I play this with my roomates to this day. Each class is worth playing at least once, the spell system is fantastic, waypoints, and items are flawless...Minus the DA glitch. This will probably always be my favorite map.

This map deserves a review. :)

I really enjoyed this map, so I re-made it a bit, thinking you were gone from SC, I found the problem that was messing up DA it was this trigger

Players 1-5, Conditions: Current Player has suffered at least 2 deaths of Arctrusu Mengsk(Battle cruiser) Move all (Summon Units) at anywhere to Location 90

The deaths triggers of Arctrusu Mengsk happen a couple times, related to the deaths of Banshee/Behemoth bosses, and going to the swamp area, I forget exactly which ones.

, I could have just fixed it but instead I decided to remove the movement range on DA completely, in exchange I also weakened the first sets of summons for it, because DA felt too overpowered before, though in return I also made the level 5 summon better.

I also powered up the level 5 spells for almost every class, and buffed Glandaria since she was easy to solo for any class. Some other minor changes too, like more unit spawns in the second area where devilkin/temple are.

I don't add myself to any credits for changes I make to maps, but I did re-name it to v4.7 to differentiate the fix/changes.

So randomly got on Bnet for the first time in a year and fired up this map (I am the creator). I ran into the bug with the DA, kinda annoying. The triggers on this got so complex with all the various spells and lack of planning on my part, that this kinda thing popped up all the time.

Striker, thats a strange coincidence you just posted on this yesterday, haha! I haven't been around in a year, like I said. I thought your comments were a bit harsh considering I started making this map about 6 years ago when a lot of the stuff in this map were new. Also, a big barrier to making a great RPG is that we are dealing with a 10 year old game and cannot do things like make experience increase your armor. If you did notice, experience gives you stats which can level up your health which DOES make you considerably more physically powerful. The spell and effects are more polished than most maps. The points you make are valid. The enemies are sparse because it has very random spawning which I don't see in many maps. My goal was to make it hard to decide what to put your stats into, that is the point. There is no perfect solution and you always feel incomplete or have a certain weakness till the end of the game. If you don't make better spells cost more, you become too powerful too quickly. If you have ever played Diablo 2, you will notice that many of your complaints are present in that game as well.

You should go back and play the original sorcery which I made in 2000. It shows you how far map making improved over the years because the original was near revolutionary for the time.

To end I will say from what people tell me, you either love this map or hate it. I wish the version posted here didn't have that annoying bug, I will have to look for a better version or fix that. Thanks to everyone for playing.

I can't say I was very impressed with this rpg. It had some interesting features, but the spells were either mediocre, annoying, or didn't work well, and the map misses it where it counts: gameplay. The gameplay was boring. You had to level too much, and the enemies were not dense enough, never had any strategy or preplanned attacks, the bosses were nothing once you actually had the spells/armor to deal with them, but too powerful otherwise. That's because the battling was always simple.

I'm glad it had quests, but they didn't feel like they paid enough. Experience had nothing to do with physical power, so that felt a bit odd. The different spell stats were nice, but it always felt like you were stretching yourself as to which you should get, never feeling like you got something that great out of it. Making the spells cost more with mastery is a bit iffy, since it requires more mana max and then mana regen to be very useful, as you're always near your max for a good while if you don't concentrate on only an early spell. Basically, it all felt beta, so that's fine. But I'd never say it was a good map as it is. Just worth playing once for ideas.

It's a fantastic map, but I found the spell casting system a little hard to use...

This is likely one of the best RPGs out there. I encountered the same bug as Wormer and Sorrow_Faith. My ally who plays DA is always glitched 30-60 minutes into the game. I believe it is a trigger to keep the banshee's summons from going too far.

Sorrow_Faith wrote on May 23 2008, 3:17 pm:
Fun rpg. is it just me or is lag an issue though?
also, that DA thingwas a bug? lol. i thought it was some corny "no spells" thing. so i was like "w/e.. gg"

The map is good and fun!
But I found a bug. I was playing as a Dark Archon and after I get the quest in the swamps to kill the boss my hydras (and later golems) were sticked near the ultralisk caven where the banshee was. I was not able to move them out of there :(
