Location and plan
Localization
Mexico City, Mexico's capital, will host the Major.
Due to safety reasons, it is not open to the public like the Six Invitational 2021.
Schedule
The video game tournament will be held between the 16th and 22nd of August. It will be an event lasting seven days.
The format will likely include four double round-robin groups. They will be then a single elimination playoff stage starting on Friday.
This would mean that if there is no lower bracket, the grand final will have no map advantage for either team, and we will likely have a straight Best-of-Five (Bo5) game.
Prize Pool and SI Points Allocation
The prize pool for the Major will be equal to the $500,000. Aside from this, Six Invitational (SI) Points will be on offer to all teams.
Beastcoast upsets TSM during NAL game
Defying the odds, beastcoast beat TSM 7-3 in a best of one game of Rainbow Six Siege's revamped NAL.
Beastcoast had to win many close games and also have a number of close calls. Charlie "rooty" Tran and Joseph "Phozzo" Eisenmann had exceptional individual games.
TSM are the 2020 NAL Finals champions, and are a consensus favorite heading into the 2021 Six Invitational, which has been rescheduled for May. TSM are one of the most admired teams in the world. North American homers also believe they are the best in the world. Beastcoast are a new addition to the NAL after being taken from NACL, which is the second tier R6.
The outcome could indicate a "changing the guard", but it's too early to determine if anyone can match the top teams in the NAL long-term. TSM are still an excellent team that has top talent however, they've made some inconspicuous errors.
Beastcoast will head into a bye. TSM must adjust and reconfigure their team in preparation for an upcoming marquee matchup against XSET on the 31st of March.
