[2011-9-27. : 10:02 am]  Lanthanide -- that's pretty weird
[2011-9-27. : 10:02 am]  Lanthanide -- it looks like a strange bear wearing a chinese-style hat
[2011-9-27. : 10:02 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I wish I could make an animated screenshot. :\
[2011-9-27. : 10:00 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Why is it weird. :(
[2011-9-27. : 9:58 am]  Lanthanide -- weird

[2011-9-27. : 9:51 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- oshit, I was playing minecraft.
[2011-9-27. : 9:51 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- When do I ever not speak in stream-of-consciousness? :P I'm doing it now, even
[2011-9-27. : 9:50 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I fail at language-ing. >.>
[2011-9-27. : 9:49 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- D: My thought process is really chaotic. Each thought somehow leads into the next, but may not be relevant to the one before that.
[2011-9-27. : 9:49 am]  Lanthanide -- - And you can't say there is a lack of efficiency because TinyMap2 opens, processes, and compresses far faster than anything else I've seen ever. xD
[2011-9-27. : 9:49 am]  Lanthanide -- "O)FaRTy1billion -- I don't try to make my code pretty.
[2011-9-27. : 9:48 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- "I don't exactly pre-plan my code. :P I just start typing." -> lack of planning out an algorithm; "And you can't say there is a lack of efficiency because TinyMap2 opens, processes, and compresses far faster than anything else I've seen ever. xD"
[2011-9-27. : 9:48 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- "Lanthanide -- indentation has nothing to do with execution time" Where did I even begin to imply that?
[2011-9-27. : 9:48 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- When you open the map it lists all of the files and gives them flags indicating if it is a chk, wav file, or something else. It loads everything into memory and then scans the CHK to figure out what it thinks it should do with it (if it is melee or UMS, and if it is brood war, vanilla, or "hybrid"/enhanced/whatever 1.04 is). When you hit 'Save' and choose the save location, then it actually loads the CHK chunks, goes through and reads/analyzes/compresses each one, and re-assembles it all. :P
[2011-9-27. : 9:45 am]  Lanthanide -- indentation has nothing to do with execution time
[2011-9-27. : 9:44 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- And you can't say there is a lack of efficiency because TinyMap2 opens, processes, and compresses far faster than anything else I've seen ever. xD
[2011-9-27. : 9:44 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- "O)FaRTy1billion -- I don't try to make my code pretty. :\ That'd just distract me from what is in my head" -> Like I said before, I don't exactly pre-plan my code. :P I just start typing.
[2011-9-27. : 9:43 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- o
[2011-9-27. : 9:43 am]  Lanthanide -- it's a random public paste, I thought it was funny
[2011-9-27. : 9:41 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I don't have a facebook.
[2011-9-27. : 9:41 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- What about facebook?
[2011-9-27. : 9:41 am]  Lanthanide -- http://pastebin.com/FWjhGm4y
[2011-9-27. : 9:41 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I didn't think of putting it on new lines when I mentioned them
[2011-9-27. : 9:41 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- "Lanthanide -- only uses braces if there are 2 or more statements for the statement" -> "O)FaRTy1billion -- {}s are for a block of code, not one line."
[2011-9-27. : 9:40 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- That'd just distract me from what is in my head
[2011-9-27. : 9:40 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I don't try to make my code pretty. :\
[2011-9-27. : 9:40 am]  Lanthanide -- for the if/for/while/whatever
[2011-9-27. : 9:40 am]  Lanthanide -- only uses braces if there are 2 or more statements for the statement
[2011-9-27. : 9:39 am]  Lanthanide -- we use that at work for some of our code bases
[2011-9-27. : 9:39 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I do that if the lines become too long
[2011-9-27. : 9:39 am]  Lanthanide -- perfectly valid indentation style
[2011-9-27. : 9:39 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Is still ugly.
[2011-9-27. : 9:38 am]  Lanthanide -- http://pastebin.com/hjjvc6WH
[2011-9-27. : 9:37 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Huh. Honestly, I don't know why I re-allocated this section. :\
[2011-9-27. : 9:37 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Also you missed the 1 line while() :awesome:
[2011-9-27. : 9:36 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- {}s are for a block of code, not one line.
[2011-9-27. : 9:36 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I like it better. If they are 1 line, I do NOT want {}s because that is ugly.
[2011-9-27. : 9:36 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- (the "ERA " section)
[2011-9-27. : 9:36 am]  Lanthanide -- 1 line for and if statements - urk
[2011-9-27. : 9:36 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- MapERA is the tileset
[2011-9-27. : 9:35 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- It does this.
[2011-9-27. : 9:35 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- It was my own idea. :P One that heinermann hadn't thought of
[2011-9-27. : 9:34 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I created a program that read the terrain files and created a lookup table for each tileset index tile and an index.
[2011-9-27. : 9:33 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- The terrain section is compressed by replacing all redundant tiles with the lowest index...
[2011-9-27. : 9:33 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Each megatile is made up of 16 (4x4) minitiles... Each minitile has it's own flags like if a unit can walk on it, elevation, and blocking vision (and other things, too)...
[2011-9-27. : 9:32 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- the tileset index groups (each horizontal line) has some properties (buildable, creep, and some more flags.. mostly to do with buildings).
[2011-9-27. : 9:31 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- The terrain section references the tileset index, which references the megatiles, which are composed of minitiles.
[2011-9-27. : 9:30 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Because I don't know of any icon editors. And the only programs I found didn't support the multi-image icons.
[2011-9-27. : 9:29 am]  Lanthanide -- megatiles?
[2011-9-27. : 9:29 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- here is the icon file. xD I made it in notepad/a hex editor.
[2011-9-27. : 9:26 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- They replace tiles with the lowest index for the megatiles used in the map (taking into consideration all tile properties).
[2011-9-27. : 9:25 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- those tables shaved quite a bit off of the terrain without changing anything. xD
[2011-9-27. : 9:24 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- units.dat, weapons.dat, upgrades.dat, techdata.dat and MTXM compression binary lookup tables.
[2011-9-27. : 9:24 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- lol. I forgot tinymap2 had data files. xD
[2011-9-27. : 9:22 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I should just remove all of them
[2011-9-27. : 9:22 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I don't know why I always leave in test code or whatever those commented out things are. :\
[2011-9-27. : 9:20 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Size_blah is the inside window sizes for the various window states.
[2011-9-27. : 9:19 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Forgot to say what the variables are. CurrentSize is the one that shows how big the window is currently. TargetSize is the one that is how big the window will be. BorderSize is AdjustWindowRect on a 0x0 rectangle to get the border dimensions.
[2011-9-27. : 9:18 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Apparently it detected a link in here. http://pastebin.com/fmQPLtjp
[2011-9-27. : 9:14 am]  Lanthanide -- beats me, I've never really done GUI programming
[2011-9-27. : 9:13 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Any problems with that?
[2011-9-27. : 9:13 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- SetWindowPos(MainWnd, NULL, 0, 0, CurrentSize.right - CurrentSize.left, CurrentSize.bottom - CurrentSize.top, /*SWP_NOCOPYBITS |*/ SWP_NOMOVE | SWP_NOOWNERZORDER | SWP_NOZORDER);
[2011-9-27. : 9:12 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- "Lanthanide -- also if you're not quite sure how big a text string should really be and you're going to make it static, you should think of a big example, and then either double it or add 50 characters" In the middle of making my shouts, I already determined that couldn't be it. :P "O)FaRTy1billion -- I was just thinking character encodings, except ... I use string.h, not windoze"
[2011-9-27. : 9:12 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- ach. My internet cut out
[2011-9-27. : 9:11 am]  Lanthanide -- there's no point being anal about tiny memory usages like that in modern PCs, especially when you're doing something dodgy to begin with - better safe than sorry
[2011-9-27. : 9:10 am]  Lanthanide -- also if you're not quite sure how big a text string should really be and you're going to make it static, you should think of a big example, and then either double it or add 50 characters
[2011-9-27. : 9:09 am]  Lanthanide -- strcat?
[2011-9-27. : 9:09 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- The slidey thing is done with a thread and a timer. :\ There is a new window size rect and a current window size rect. It just adds to (or subtracts from) the current window size rect until it reaches the appropriate size.
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  Lanthanide -- and when you compress it, it often doesn't open, or opens but has a visual artifact going down the centre
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Ya, that's why I need win7 so I can debug it.
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- I was just thinking character encodings, except ... I use string.h, not windoze
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  Lanthanide -- sometimes when you open it, it very slowly slides down
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- The output window at the end ... I don't know how to use streams or something else for appending arbitrary text, so I just approximated how big it might be ...
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  Lanthanide -- that slide-out effect doesn't work properly
[2011-9-27. : 9:08 am]  Lanthanide -- they're glitchy on vista and 7 ayway
[2011-9-27. : 9:07 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- Aaaah. I just thought of something.
[2011-9-27. : 9:07 am]  O)FaRTy1billion -- But if those didn't work then the whole program wouldn't do anything.
