Bound the Defender
Players:6
Map Size: 96x96

Decription:

BtheD [I know the does not abbreviate] will be a bound and defense tournament in one. It starts off as one player bounding while the other player defends. Every second player [x] survives bounding, then he creates an enemy unit for his opponent to defend against.

Levels:Not Yet Specified

Ideas:

JeFF.: JeFF. noticed that the map would be unfair for a pro bounder vs a noob bounder and a pro defender vs a noob defender. So the game will start off as a competition in Bounding and then Defending. Pro Bounders would play against the next best bounder. The Defense will work a different way. In the Defense competition, 10+leaks in defense = super noob @ defending, so every second bounder survives, only so many units will be created. so maybe create units every 3 seconds. Pro defender will obviously have 1 Unit every second. So basicaly, if you're a good defender, then you will get more to defend against. Noob defender will get less to defend against. Winners of each section will [once actual game has started] will play against the winner from the other section. Player from section 1 will automatically be in finals.

Leaks:
Pro
: 1-3 leaks [1 unit every second]

Intermediate
: 5-9 leaks [1 unit every 2 seconds]

Amatuer
: 10+ leaks [1 unit every 3 second]

Just here for the pie

Sounds like a cool concept, but then again, there would be major balance issues. And also, it isn't JeFF, it's JaFF if that's who you're talking about.

Noobish question, but what does "bounding" mean?

Also, it might be cool if the bounding player can upgrade the units he sends to the defending player.

Bounding is a series of complicated (sometimes) maneuvers to dodge explosions, that will kill you, often used with zerglings or hero zerglings.

hmm. Maybe noob bounders will get a hero zergling.

So did you like my upgrade idea? I won't be mad if you say no.

I liked it =] I think I'll add that part for the Finals.
Or maybe Finals will be fixed levels.

I once played a map on Bnet that was called Bound defense. I tried to find it in my downloads folder, but i couldn't find it :( It's one of those korean maps. You dodge larvae and try to get to the middle. The closer you are to the middle, the more minerals you get. Once you die, you use the minerals to make different defense bunkers. The more minerals you have, the better.

1. That's not Bound Defense. It's probably some random dodging map with the word Bound in it.
2. The real Bound Defense (1 + 3) is made by TriX, on the USEast server.

You need screenshots in order for this topic to be valid (I forgot to tell you earlier.).

Be careful with the balance issue's, after all, competetion involves being better then others so don't make it that people get handicap just because they suck.

I don't fully understand how this works. Will one person be bounding while the other defends and the longer the bounder lasts the more units/harder units come for the defender?

And as inferno said, add screenies.

Sounds alright, good luck!

If you're a real pRo you'll go eat your breakfast while you leak 10+ guys, and then power through the bound later for super triple unfair advantage.

Perhaps it would be better to simply have three different buttons at the beginning, where you can move your guy and it changes your difficulty? That way pros wouldn't be so proud of their exploit?

]lol... that would save me a lot of time. I'll make 2 vers. and see which one people are more honest towards. So the balance issue here would be with the player. Sorry, I double posted.
