Nothing new to be honest, I think the world has heard enough dirt bands, you need to really improve on lyrics, get better bass lines, get a better drummer, and i'm sorry SOLAR, if you are the vocalist as mentioned previously, your voice sounds good for a parody movie on flash but that's about it, you sound way too fake like your nose is blocked or something.
I mean good job, good quality and all, first your first thing (I hope your first) but I still reckon you're not exactly cutting edge...
I think some good songs that are unique to look at would be...
(This is about to be a really long list with a few bands frequently selected, if you're too lazy to listen to every song, the first minute or two should give you a good idea of how the song goes...)
Fluorescent Adolescent -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N64QMKEbJQgI think this song is particularly good because the song has a boatyard kinda feel to it, and then when I watched the video, the video takes place in a boatyard, so, I think the music definitely fits the video and has a great feel to it.
A Certain Romance -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJO1DxEWaD8&feature=relatedThis song is amazing live, it has the elements of moshing at the start with the fast speed and drum beat, then it goes into a quiet part where though simple, the guitar has a semi-epic sound to it, moving into a bouncy kind of sunny feeling. Another good part about this song is the lyrics are Social Realism, meaning that it's observations of society then written down, in this song they cover the chav and indie cultures from the UK.
When the sun goes down -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2W_hEdt1Xes&feature=relatedStarts out harmonic with vocals being clear and once again Social Realism, it later on boosts into a faster paced song, the story thickens, overall a pretty decent song.
Dancing Shoes -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H1sqXNZkbEA very unique sound for Arctic Monkeys, it definitely fits the theme they aimed for.
Wonderwall -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAPtTS0TYtUI need not say much for this song, it's pretty much just another amazing hit by Oasis, catchy riffs, unique singing, very relatable by the public.
Champagne Supernova -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3C7DECI0jU&feature=relatedA long long song, doesn't really need to be that long, but it's pretty unique, the lyrics fit the idea of being tripped out, they dont necessarily make sense, but when sung they still sound really good, it's not just dirty singing to dirty guitar, it's built up in layers, not every instrument needs to be playing the whole song, they come in and come out when need be.
Viva La Vida -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QulYSXQPC2QHardly fair for me to ask you to make a song like this, it's pretty much epic. This is just a clip of the song, but if you listen to the whole song, the lyrics are meaningful, they are very unique, the singing is once again clear, and the instruments arn't just smushed together.
So I guess the point is, not a whole deal of people are going to like listening to your stories, whether it may be getting drunk, or getting high being with your friends whatever it may be, you need to step above that and make lyrics that are relatable from a wide perspective of people, a sound that is a lot cleaner and definitely musically structured. I am not going to lie, I didn't listen to every one of your songs, and I didn't listen to the whole of any of them, but I got bored and was semi-appauled... I am trying to help, so
!
None.
