I was wondering today, if I had to loose one of my 5 senses forever, which one would it be, and why.
I could honestly say that I would rather loose my ability to taste things then either of the rest of them. I always want to be able to see things, as well as hear them. To smell things would also be important, as well as to touch things. To me, tasting things wouldn't be the most important sense that I would need to live. What would you rather loose?
NOTE: YOU NEED TO VOTE BEFORE YOU CAN SEE OTHER'S REPLIES AND REPLY YOURSELF!
None.
It's hard to say, since all senses are an extension of "touch". Everything you hear, see, smell, taste, and physically feel come from nerve ending responses, and there are just different types of nerves in different parts of the body.
But if I had to choose which bunch of nerves quit working, I too would pick taste.
P.S. This should be in Null

I also voted for taste. But I was close between taste and smell. Smelling things is also not a big deal to me.
Smelling things helps a lot more in survival than taste, IMO.
But the senses of taste and smell are very closely linked... I'm curious if you could remove one without effecting the other.

Well, along time ago, I ate a saltine cracker while smelling soap and the cracker tasted like soap. No joke! I was testing to see if it would work, from something I saw on Mythbusters. CONFIRMED!
None.
Taste. Of all senses taste is the least useful and thus would be the best to eliminate. Runner up is definitely smell though.

Smell, tasting things tastes good.
Taste is second, however.

It can't be hearing or seeing for obvious reasons. I have to have touch because having a physical feel for things is important too. And it definitely can't be taste because IMO one of the greatest pleasures in life is to be able to taste good food. So if I were to give one up, it would be smell. Besides, most of the time my sense of smell gives me negative feedback >.<

Who the hell voted to remove there sense of vision? How could you live without seeing things? It would be so difficult.

Smell. It's relatively unused anyways.
None.
All of you people who said smell because you like to taste, 90% of that sensation you get in your mouth when you eat stuff is smell. So I say taste.

Once you people eat chinese food, you will never EVER even
think about giving up your sense of taste
None.
Well taste and smell are really linked together. You kill smell, and you are very likely, if not guaranteed to lose your taste. If I could not lose my taste, I'd give up my smell (assuming that one must go). I do not know if that relationship is inverse, if it isn't, then taste all the way, else, I guess it doesn't matter. I couldn't give up my other senses over those two.

I didn't forget anything... 5 senses, thats all.
