Is it just me or is Firefox 2 crappier than firefox 1? I had to reformat and, as usual, just download everything fresh to make sure everything is updated... and firefox 2 seems like it's the only thing that didn't make improvements, but instead, got worse.
Firefox seems to crash a hell of a lot more, it's a lot slower, seems less css compliant, and I haven't found a way to enable profiles or disable that gay "start new session / old session" box that pops up everytime I just want to load firefox. Forms seem to freeze up, where I can do anything except enter text / submit a form. How weird is that? The tabs, I hate them. I'd rather have "..." for tab names than have my tabs hidden. And I ESPECIALLY hate the fact that quick searches seem to have disappeared by default. I loved typing "php x" to search for function x in php's manual in the address bar. Or just "google x" to search google. Now I have to have google's search bar in my interface to do that? Maybe there's an extension. I just haven't got around to customizing my software yet.
And don't get me wrong, firefox 2 is still better than ie7... but now only like 500 times better instead of 700 times better.
None.
The "start new session" option only appears if you log out without closing firefox first. I think there's a checkbox to disable/enable it when it appears.

I enjoy it more, and I haven't had any of those problems, and Ex, SeN and most websites work better with Fx than any other browser.
None.
ie often reads code incorrectly - all other browsers that i know of are better
for example - all images in ie have 1.5 spacing, no matter how you code it
None.
I don't get those problems using Firefox on Ubuntu :\
And yeah, you can either edit it in the about:config or I think there is an option in the preferences about the last session stuff.
Opera FTW though. Except not on Ubuntu for some reason :\

Fx 2 is far more bloated. It likes to rape my RAM.
None.
First: buy more ram.
Second: fix your computer.
Third: stop running windows.

1.1 GB.
2.Computer is fixed.
3. Fx runs fine on Linux, but it was far faster in version 1.
Fx doesn't rape my RAM nearly as bad as Opera, though.

No, because Opera is the easiet to browse in.

The latest version of Firefox uses about 60 Mb of Ram in Vista Home Premium 32-bit with DDR2 800 @ 4-4-4-12 timings (very stable).
Also, I've gotten several of those New/Restore Session boxes recently.

Fx2 likes to crash on me a lot with my Xubuntu install. I've used it for about 2 minutes on Windows, so I don't know how that works.

to have that users thing show up you have to run it with a certain command (dont know it now) and then you get the profile editor... use google for the command ;o

New/Restore Session happens whenever Firefox is closed by something other than itself (i.e. shutting down/logging out with fx open, fx crashing, killing it)<br />You can still get firefox 1.5 if you prefer it

Ya, that restore session thing kinda pissed me off, because I got a thing for my startup that preloads Fx so that it doesn't take as long to start up, and it kept trying to restore the session, even if I wasn't using Fx

I use safari
Safari sucks and so does your face.
I don't know where these Fx bugs come from. Fx2 never crashed for me, and even Fx3 is more stable than IE7.
