Hosting Problems on Starcraft

Well, I have my fancy cable internets and all. When going through my router, I can usually get 800kB/s, never lower than 100 though.
However, when I make a game on Starcraft, nobody can join. I've used all sorts of different maps and attractive names, but nobody can ever join. I've had a friend test it out, and we've confirmed it many times. I can still join games, just not host.
If I plug my computer straight into the cable box, it works fine. I can host games, I can host them nine times, and still not lag.

Is this a common problem? Is it a lame router, or what (linksys, by the way)? Is there any way I can fix it?

Port Fowarding is your problem.

Open ports 6112 - 6119 on your router configuration settings (In the Port Fowarding Option)
Both TCP and UDP out and in.

This should fix your hosting problems.
Do a google search for Starcraft Port Fowarding if you need specific instructions on how to do this.

If you don't know how to get into your router settings try this:

Open up your command prompt.
Type "ipconfig"
Note the Default gateway numbers "xxx.xxx.x.x" (Something like that)
Type in the default gateway number in the address bar of your browser.
You should be prompted for a username and password. If you don't know it, ask the person that set up your router. Or you can try admin as the username and password (Default username/password).
Find a Port Fowarding Tab or Applications and Gaming Tab
Open ports 6112 - 6119 TCP and UDP.
Foward it to your IP Address.
Hosting problem solved. (Probably.)

On mine, my IP address changes alot, so I have to redo this every once in a while to continue hosting. You may have to do the same.

Control Panel->Network Connections->Right click on your connection (usually called Local Area Connection)->Properties->Select Internet Protocool(TCP/IP)->Properties->Use the following IP Address:
If your router's IP address is 192.168.1.1

IP address: 192.168.1.<a number >1 <33
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Use the following DNS server addresses:
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1
Alternate DNS server: 4.1.1.2

If your router's IP address is 192.168.0.1

IP address: 192.168.0.a number >1 <33
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Use the following DNS server addresses:
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.0.1
Alternate DNS server: 4.1.1.2

Ok,ok,ok.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Or, use these tutorials:
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Pick your router and then the game its for, and follow instructions. Worked for me, three times over. WCIII and SC use the same ports, by the way.

I forwarded 6112-6119 and I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right. I used the link you sent me, Centreri. I also set up a static IP which is currently functional as far as internet goes.
My router has a built in firewall, maybe that has something to do with it? I have no other firewalls, and the link didn't say anything about that. I double checked all my stuff. What's wrong?

Edit: Actually, it seems to be working now. I think I hit Bnet at a bad time is all. Thanks guys.
