Please offer me suggestions on how I can help you guys out... instead of silently building resentment. The modding forum setup can be changed. The moderators there can be changed. The prominence of modding info and events can be changed. (though, this iniative of which you speak.... I can't force people, particularily ones that have left, to play your mods.) The fact that I probably won't give you what you don't ask for will not change.

For one: Finish transfering all the database. I've been waiting for that since Maplantis closed.

Step one of gathering the faith of the userbase: Ban the kidiots. Good job Moose.
Tau (Not Yoshi, but Tau, because thats the name used at the time, the particular symbol of what im saying here.) did this VERY early on in the days of Maplantis and helped the community grow by taking out the kidiot spammers that would hold it back.

Anything id like to see here at SEN i know isnt finished but is going to be worked on, im willing to give it time, but while i wait id appreciate the general rubbish being tossed out to the curb where they belong.


Id also like to see moderators put into power in areas where as far as i can see dont have the proper staff. (Melee, tech, (Congrats to Deathawk.) ect.)

We need Yoshi's commitment to making a good website on SEN.

The way I see it:
You can't actually help us in anyway. There's people like me and a couple of others but mostly me that try really hard to get back up modding. We, MM as a clan, host mod nights, contests, make mods and all but it just isn't enough. People just seem to skip it or something right when it was getting really big. I think that people just quit and done. Take mod nights for instance, they used to fill up even when there was no MM member around, now I am the only one doing something for them and if I can't show up one saturday (RL crosses SEN) people just don't play at all.

Well speaking as a new person who went to a few modnights I can say that you guys suck and aren't fun at all. All you guys do is instantly own noobs, backstab, and comp stomp.

In short, I don't think the issue is that SEN isn't doing enough for the modding community. The problem lies within each individual of the modding community. You guys have serious personality flaws which hurt the community.

The mods themselves are fun. It's just the community is terrible at advertising and drawing in new people or making them fun to play with others.

Maybe ban devilesk too?

I don't know what the hell of a mod night you came to but I'm pretty sure that WE ALWAYS DO THE SAME THING, we pick the new comer and ally all of us vs it.
I don't see anything that isn't funny about a 7vs1

At least in the mod community, we accept new comers and hope the learn on their own. With the mapping community, everyone wants to be spoon fed every piece of information.

Actually, whenever Corbo doesnt host mod night, ive noticed the fun factor increase quite a bit.

But Devilesk is dead wrong, MM has provided some of the best and most productive members to grace SEN or Maplantis.

It's important that I say that I'm not completely serious with what I'm saying. I'm just drawing from my own personal experience.

I've been to three mod nights
At the first mod night I thought that free market was fun but IP OWNED ME too early before I could actually enjoy it
At the second mod night once again I thought AA was fun but Doodle BACKSTABBED ME in a team game before I could enjoy it
At the third mod night I was excited about what I thought would be a game against an insane computer that required several people just to beat one but it was really just a lame COMPSTOMP

And the rest of what I said earlier was a joke. In reality, I find the members of the modding community to be more knowledgeable, dedicated to actually modding, and helpful.

Obviously the site is progressing rapidly, and for the future I have a suggestion, consider it or not, I don't know if it would be better or worse, but my personal opinion is that Tech/games should be merged. When ever I come to SEN, I log it, and open in tabs StarEdit Network, Map Showcase, null, tech, and games, and I think it would just be easier on everyone if those 2 were just 1 thing. I have no idea on how difficult running/creating a forum is, but it doesn't seem that this idea would be THAT hard, would it? plz discuss, or just flame it it is just my personal opinion.
