I think the Wraithverge from Hexen is one of the most powerful FPS weapons I've ever seen.
By the way, Doom 2 doesn't look nearly as bad as a lot of other games I've seen. It looks much better with OpenGL rendering and linear filtering.

I second this. Too bad it's not selectable you can only get it in game.
But also I have to say that, when fully loaded, the flare gun is more effective than the cerebral bore.
