The long lost Star Wars mod

Hello all. I wasn't 100% sure where to put this, so I hope this is the right place for it.
Back in the late 2000's there was a site called broodwarai.com, I'm sure many of the veterans here remember it.
I recently found a moddb.com page that had V2.01 of an ancient mod for Starcraft: Brood War called Open Rebellion AI.
It was an adapted version of an old Star Wars TC mod for SC:BW that added AI, touched up a few things, and released for newer patches of SC:BW.
I dug through a number of archived pages of broodwarai.com and discovered that there actually existed a V2.2 of ORAI.
This one used SC:BW V1.16.1. I have been unable to find it anywhere on the net. Please, if anyone here has a copy of that version,
I would greatly appreciate if you could upload ORAI V2.2 or ORTC Beta2.0 here on staredit.net, archive.org, moddb.com, or anywhere and let me know.
If anyone knows where to find an already uploaded copy, send me a link.
Additionally, if anyone has a collection of the other mods, AI Scripts, and files from broodwarai.com please upload that too and let me know.
Anyway, thanks to any who read this and thanks to the community and staredit.net for still existing :) :)

TL;DR If you have ORAI V2.2 or ORTC Beta2.0 or a proper collection of broodwarai.com please upload it somewhere for me to download it.

P_Q uploaded this a month ago, I think it's related to broodwarai too - https://github.com/poiuyqwert/BWAILauncher

wow that was fast! Huge thanks! On the archived pages it was named V2.2
but, I'd guess that was a typo, because I did see mention of it being V2.02

Do you think it'd be fine to upload that on the moddb.com page I found?
I'd imagine this is essentially an abandoned project, and I don't want to
take any credit, but I think whoever uploaded it and anyone downloading it
would appreciate having a newer and V1.16.1-compatible version of ORAI.

I tried direct messaging the user "bajadulce" on tl.net, but he was last active
5 years ago on there at the time of this writing, so I don't have much hope
he'll respond. That was the most recent forum he was active on I could find.
As I understand, he was the founder of broodwarai.com (along with poiuyqwert)
and I think it was stated that he created/updated ORTC into ORAI.

And thanks for the link to BWAI-Launcher stuff I'll check that out too.

I think it would be fine to upload. It's better for everyone if these things are available in multiple places.

Bajadulce unfortunately left the community on bad terms, taking down BWAI as he left. I don't think you'll have much luck getting in contact with him.

Yeah, I thought the same thing, that's why I wanted to upload it to moddb.com.
Just wanted to do my due diligence and get the opinion of someone from the greater community.

It's a shame he left on bad terms, I had no idea.

Massive thanks for the super quick responses (I figured it was a long-shot that I'd even find it, and I figured it wouldn't be so fast)
and thanks again for providing the links and files.

1 more question out of curiosity, if you don't mind.
Has anyone pinpointed any specific reason why 1/3 of the antivirus scanners on virustotal.com catch almost every mod as malicious.
I'm convinced that none of them are, but I'm curious if there is a well-known commonality between them that the community has narrowed down.
A few specific bytes that can't be changed, that look malicious? Maybe because most of them work on injection?
The ORAI v2.02 you provided was flagged, but so was v2.01, Dawn of Change V2.99, ARAI V3.2. It looks to me like almost every mod gets flagged.
Is there any way that the community has come up with to analyze these files to ensure they aren't actually malicious?
Any answers are appreciated, but not entirely necessary, I'm just curious if this is an ongoing issue in the community that's already been solved
and I just haven't come across the solution yet.

Anyway, I can't thank you guys enough! So, thanks again! :D :D

Yes, this is a well known issue and unfortunately there's not much we can do about it. You're correct that it's the injection mechanism that causes them to be flagged, and we've never had any luck convincing companies that it's a false positive.

Verification hasn't really been an issue because the community is so small that the people posting these files are usually trusted sources. I can think of some measures one could take - obviously for existing mods you could compare the hashes to known good copies. For new ones, possibly examining the EXE with a hex editor to check that it appears to be created by FireGraft, or maybe pulling the .fgp file out and reconstructing your own EXE from that? Mods with plugins would require you to verify one or more DLL files as well, which becomes rapidly more expensive...

Ultimately I think the answer is that it is possible to do but probably not worth the effort given how little a potential attacker has to gain.

I appreciate your time and knowledge on the subject. thanks again for the quick responses and the file(s).
I contacted the user who uploaded on moddb.com and he's uploaded the updated version to it.
I suggested to him to keep both versions up in case anyone wants access to the old version, but I'll leave that up to him (I personally kept the old one, as well).
I'm glad to have played a role (no matter how small) in rescuing a part of internet and modding history.
If there are any other mods from that era that are not readily downloadable I'd love to have them.

Here's the moddb page: https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-long-lost-star-wars-mod-for-starcraft-open-rebellion
Thanks again!

Unfortunate since my old Temptation mod with all the music was hosted there and my drive that had the backups ended up dying.

I'll have to catch up and remember all the drama at some point.

Oh, that's bad to hear. I hope you've recovered most of them.
