Latest changes:
- Refounding of the dominion has been QA'd and archived. It has received a recommendation. But it's a very weak recommendation. It's significantly under-polished but at least it doesn't have any outstanding issues and it offers an interesting side story for Raynor following the events of the "true colors" mission.
- Assimilation has been archived and QA'd. Despite having excellent English, a great premise, and acceptable mapping and gameplay, it has failed to get a recommendation due to critical game-breaking bugs and poor writing.
- Chroniques d'alliance has been moved to the pending review section. I'm going to attempt a review of the English translation of this but if the English ends up being too poor I'll put it into the French language section instead.

- Beckoning of Destiny has been QA'd and archived. It was on its way towards a possible recommendation when it was discovered that the campaign is in an unfinished and abandoned state, with the last mission only being half done. It's one of the last broodwar-less starcraft sequels made and it was in the middle of development when broodwar was released. It is also, the first broodwar campaign ever made as the latter half of the campaign does make use of SCX maps.

- Chronicles of Van fleet has been QA'd and archived. The author has been found and added to the listing It has received a recommendation. However, keep in mind its difficulty level. If you're too good at starcraft you may not enjoy this.
- Dotrs has been renamed "Diary of the Rifle Soldier" as that is the true name. In addition, the author has been found and added to the listing.
- Diary of the Rifle Soldier has been QA'd and archived. It has failed to get a recommendation due to severe gameplay and plot-map relation related issues. To put it simply, this is the wrong game for this campaign. This would maybe have worked better as a half life 2 mod perhaps.

Edit:

- Tassadar's ascension has been QA'd and archived. It has not gotten a recommendation due to a very poor gameplay design and due to the creator being the biggest attention whore in the history of starcraft to the point that his whoring ruined the entire campaign. Cyka blyat.... what an idiot.
- Playthrough and archiving of chroniques d'alliance has been postponed until the end of my list of unmodded campaigns. This decision was made because CaHek is still testing it and in turn Zergy is still updating it. I want to wait with this until Zergy finishes updating the existing missions at least.

I've dug into the wayback machine and the readme files for "the 5th order". I have discovered that the campaign used to be on two zipfiles called
5th_ep1ep2_full_v101.zip
and
5th_episode3_v100.zip

These were hosted on fileplanet, which in turn was fully archived here in 2012:

The problem is that this archive made the idiotic decision to put everything into gigantic tar files with no file list.

At this point I am stuck, I would need an expendable hard drive and a tremendous amount of time to download and check each one of these tar files. Apparently, the team that archived fileplanet have an IRC channel but I only have discord. some of these torrents do have file lists but others don't.

Something went wrong with the archival of Tassadar's Ascension. The campaign can't be downloaded.

Anyway, I've given up on finding the mod files for the 5th order. I'll just have to play it without. I am undecided on whether to put it and Capital ruin in the English language section or the missing files section after I QA it....

I tested with a 1 GB archive, the download was ass slow, but once done I can list the content of the archive.

Some of the torrents come with a text file containing a list of files, I'm not sure if that filelist matches the actual contents of the tar file however. I would be surprised if the text files were correct because there are few files listed for tars that are around 30GB big.

I've finished QAing the first episode of rebel factions. the whole campaign is basically the secret lovechild of Retribution and the bob levels. It's also one of the very few campaigns out there that get better as you play with the first mission being the worst mission in the campaign (at least in episode 1).

Latest changes:
- The game base column has been renamed to "requirements" and "Cartooned SCR" has been changed to "broodwar" with a note indicating the campaign is best played with the cartooned skin for starcraft remastered. (Rebel factions is likely to get this as well)

Ok my life has just been thrown into chaos. I'll have to cease work on this for a while until I get things sorted out. I still aim to finish QAing rebel factions this week but aside from that I have no idea when I'll resume work on this project.

Some changes to the listing:

- New era by Tima123 has been removed from the listing because as it turns out I mistook the third episode of New Era for being the whole campaign.
- Zerg Campaning by Tima123 has been found, QA'd and archived. It is really weird how so many bad campaigns were made specifically in 2016. that year feels a lot like a miniature 1998. For that matter 2017 is a miniature 1999 with lots of good quality campaigns coming out that year.
- Heroes of the UED has been archived and added to the listing. It has been refused a QA
- Soverign campaign has been archived and added to the listing. It has been refused a QA
- A life of Dominion by Tima123 has been added to the listing under the pending review section.
- New Era has been added to the listing under the pending review section, this time with the correct files although the files are not yet available.
- The fall of Legion has been added to the listing under the pending review section.

These changes are all possible due to more campaign files in moddb being discovered. By the way, there are no spelling mistakes in this post... the names of the campaigns are themselves misspelled by the creators.

Middle of March I sent a mail to the creator the Chau Sara campaign with a list of little things to fix.
I received an answer from him the next day were he told me he could fix that if he had the original files. I gave him a link to download them and I'm still waiting for his answer, so, maybe this campaign will receive an update in the future.

Latest changes:
- Fall of Legion is the epitome of starcraft moddb and is therefore naturally one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen. It has been QA'd and archived. With a score of 9% it is one of the few campaigns that are worse than campaigns that have simply been refused a rating.

This is the last campaign that will be getting a score for some time as my previously mentioned personal problems are coming back starting tomorrow. Still, at least my problems are not as bad as they were at the start of the week. I'll finish QAing legacy of the confederation.... eventually.

CaHeK's hard drive has ended up being the best contribution that my archive has ever gotten since its inception due to the fact that it has provided 3 newly found campaigns that managed to get a recommendation. That number has the potential to increase to 5 when I eventually review Capital Ruin and the 5th Order.

You mean the french campaign? I didn't even know there were problems with it. It's marked in blue in the archive.

Yes, the problem were very minor, so it's still a quite good one.

Recent changes:

- Legacy of the confederation 1 has been QA'd. It has received a recommendation.. It basically recieves a recommendation for it's originality, as well as its excellent plot, characters, and writing. It wins the award for the best alternate timeline plot in a starcraft custom campaign. It does however have one outstanding issue: Poor map layouts.

Aside from this, I am in the process of analysing the original files for Legacy of the confederation II part 1 to see what versions could be supported. In the readme there is heavy evidence that the campaign was originally made with stardraft, even going so far as to include instructions for what to do with sound and portrait folders which apparently used to exist before being put into the SEMPQ itself. As such, it is clear that, similar to other campaigns originally made with stardraft, this episode of LotC is at least fully compatible with 1.10 as is without any changes. Whether this is also the case for fallen angel and episode II part 2 remains to be seen but Fallen angel is in all likelihood v 1.10 compatible since it worked on my computer on v1.09b back in 2003. Fallen angel is one of the 6 custom campaigns I played before I got an internet connection. (if you're wondering how I got them without internet: I bought them. I paid 3.33 dollars for stellar forces, insurrection, retribution, and enslavers, then another 3.33 dollars for resurgence and fallen angel.)

- Episode 2 of legacy of the confederation is going to get a conditional recommendation if it gets a recommendation due to the fact that is is not an RTS and therefore it is unlikely anyone interested in playing a classic RTS game like starcraft broodwar in the 2020s is going to be interested in playing a non-RTS campaign for it.

- Wow, they really went out of their way to make sure the campaign has no RTS missions. There could have been a RTS mission after the second one, but instead they put a large wall of text in the mission briefing of the next mission instead.

Recent changes:

- Lotc episode 2 part 1 has been QA'd and scored 81%. No determination has yet been made on whether or not to recommend it. It will depend on how the story progresses in part 2.
- Fallen angel is confirmed to be v1.10 compatible. It is also confirmed to NOT be 1.16.1 compatible, even with a repacking of the MPQ.

Edit: the gamebreaking bug in the first mission of fallen angel has ruled out a full recommendation for that campaign. I don't even know what caused it to break.

Fallen angel has been QA'd and has gotten a score of 83%. As far as production value is concerned, this is the winner. It is so well packaged that it feels like it was produced by blizzard and it really has it all. Unfortunately it suffers from a terrible first mission and a near complete lack of macro gameplay as well as a messy attempt at a dual track plot. I'm not sure yet whether to recommend it or not, a recommendation will be contingent on how part 2 of episode 2 turns out. Regardless, at 83% this is among the highest scoring campaigns I've come across.

At last, the QA and archiving of Legacy of the confederation have been completed. Episode 1 has received a recommendation, meanwhile, all 3 parts of episode II have gotten a conditional recommendation. Overall, the campaign has scored 81%

Right, we are down to 4 large unmodded campaigns and 4 small modded campaigns. It's hard to say if I will be able to complete this project before the next steam sale which starts in 60 days. There are a massive amount of metroidvanias and other good games that have come out so far this year so I will likely be playing those during the second half of the year. All of the 4 remaining 1.16.1 modded campaigns will be played in one chunk.

Anyway, The next thing that will be QA'd and archived is Chroniques de l'alliance by Zergy. Expectations are low since CaHek didn't finish playing through it but I will give it a fair chance nonetheless.

edit: well that was quick. Alliance Chronicles has been tossed into the french campaign section on account of how disastrous the translation turned out to be. Time for Renovare....

edit 2: Renovare's playthrough is unlikely to last long either, there does not seem to have been any playtesting.....

You fixed the spelling mistakes, but the real problem is that you constantly used the wrong word when you meant something completely different. It seems to me that your knowledge of English is mostly vocal since you used incorrect words that are pronounced similar to the words you are really trying to say. it reminds me of the problems in fall of the gods which is one of the most beautiful campaigns one ever seen, but which is unplayable due to the incomprehensible writing.

Aside from that, Renovare has been archived and QA'd. It has failed to get a recommendation due to catastrophically bad mapping and gameplay. It's really sad as this is a campaign with an interesting premise.

Capital ruin is up next.

Edit: Capital ruin appears to be decent enough so far. It will probably take some time for me to QA it though since it has 19 missions. However, overall, I can now see myself completing this archival project before the summer sale on steam.
