They're nuts.
Trial and error... mostly error.
Isn't there any way to get blizzard to stop handling SC like a java backend service? This sabotaging of their own game's dev community is just so infuriating.
On another note, I've downloaded SCMDraft. If there is anything I could possibly do to help speed up the development of this brilliant campaign, just let me know.
None.

I couldn't agree more.

Unless you know someone with Texas accent who can voiceact Duke or know stuff about Audition, not really.
As StarCraft is recently patched, the tingling phenomenon occurs, saying that StarCraft Alternate is not supported. Starcraft Alternate is not running due to patch. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what to do.

Nope, all I can provide in terms of voice acting is the voice of Asian women.... or my own generic white guy voice.

I may come back to you on that
ALright, at long last as I have arrived at this campaign and I have decided that since this is an active project I'll give active feedback on a near daily basis as I play through this campaign.
So lets begin.
So far I have tried playing the first mission and while it looks awesome, things are off to a bad start. Unfourtunately, the mission is impossible to win because the very first wave that the orange protoss base will arrive before you're able to even start making zerglings and will overwhelm what little forces you have and leave you with nothing but a badly injured draliska... if you're lucky. The rest of the gameplay involves a desperate attempt to stabilise the base but once that is done the resources are already all nearly spent and its not possible to make an expansion yet. There's also an issue with Hydralisks being available as an evolution option but hydralisk dens not being available.
For now I'll skip this mission but I hope it can be fixed so that I can actually play it at a later date. You'll need to figure out if there should or should not be hydralisks and find a way to delay that first 4 protoss attack wave that always comes by around 5 minutes.
edit: mission 2 is pretty great. nice work!

I beat it every time and Im not a good Zerg player, so it's quite beatable. I've also seen a guy do it with just zerglings without a single sunken or hydra not as much as 9 days ago.

There is a way to get access to hydras on this mission.
mission 2 has the same problem with the hydralisks, only this time its very clear that hydralisks are supposed to be in this mission since the enemy has access to protoss scouts.
There is a way to get access to hydras on this mission as well, it's much more straight forward than on the previous one.
ah I see you replied before I could fix my comment about mission 2 (or rather, I fixed it before I noticed you replied). I should have played that more before talking about it. oops. Anyway, mission 2 is overall pretty great (although really hard). Good work on that!

Well I lost every single time, I tried a number of strategies but nothing worked. Sunken or no sunken. I tried a total of 10 times I think. In any case, it's really weird having the first mission in a campaign be so hard, and harder than the mission that comes after it.

I think the first three missions help summarise campaign to come pretty well - mecriless AIs with personalities and tendency to expand, AI allies, occasional hero units on both sides, etc. Rather than letting the player go easy for the first missions, I give them a good show of things to come, so they can figure out whenever they will be able to play this or not. Of course, despite overall difficulty of the campaign being high, it does have certain inconsistency due to my shifting priorities in development over the years, so the first missions may be actually harder than some of the later ones.
I managed to beat mission 1 2 days ago and mission 2 today. As hard as they were, it was a ton of fun once I got used to this new AI and it felt extremely rewarding to do so. Basically the trick to beating this custom AI is to never ever go idle and to make sure you're always building units.
Unfortunately, it has also become clear that due to the intense focus required for winning each of the missions in this campaign, it will take several months of irregular playing to get through the campaign. The reason for this is the size of the campaign and the fact that I have a job and when I finish work I need to take a break from the occasional intensity of my work, which is very similar to the intensity of the missions of this campaign. I have therefore decided to postpone concluding my playthrough to the very end after I've played everything else. One thing is for sure though, this campaign is getting some sort of recommendation when all is done and said.
I may also play through some missions during staycations that I take this year....
None.
Well that patch didn't last.
- Global - Compatiability update for a new version.
Excuse me, StarCraft is still patched, but is there no update on Alternate anymore? There seems to be little patch since September 12th last year. I wonder if September 12th last year was the last patch. I've been waiting for alternate patches so far. If you're reading this, please give us an honest answer. Thank you.
None.
Patch 1.23.7 did not break compatibility in any way. It was mostly released as a way of starting a new season of... whatever online play periodicity they have on Battle.net.

I think it should still work fine with the new version? A major patch (which will hopefully be the last for main Alternate's development) is underway, so I wouldn't want to post any intermediate ones.
