Just today, the Battlenet app made me download an update for SC:R.
Now SCMDraft 2 won't start. It says "Please select the StarCraft directory".
I find the current directory. No luck.
Thankfully, I have an older version of the game (from the old CDs) installed on the computer. So I locate that directory. Still no luck.
Now I'm lost. Can anyone help?

Ensure SCMDraft is
unblocked.
Otherwise what specific version of SCMDraft are you using? You could try the
latest version or an older version like the one in the
second post.

I got it working. It seems that since the last SC update lots of people have had problems. SCMDraft has been updated a lot recently... the latest version works. It can be downloaded here:

The latest patch removed the MPQs scmdraft used to load the game data and switched to a new file format, which is why the old versions no longer work.
I tried to post links to the newest version which has support in various locations so it could quickly be found.

Run application, click OK, and takes you to editor, no "Please select the StarCraft directory" error. You can edit maps, save them, go into classic trigger and trigger editor. You can even start it when SC is running, edit map, and save it. These two 2017 versions I tried seems to work.

The old versions work if you still have the old datafiles somewhere. They will not work with a new 1.23 install.

Hmm that's odd. Seems like all versions that I have works now, including the installer one (ScmDraft 2 Version 0.9.08 (Installer)). That's great!

Ah ok, I didn't see your post earlier. But still the Switch condition isn't working for the Scmdraft 2 2019.07.15 version.

Wait, what do you mean by this? Because I do have the latest patch installed, Version 1.23.0.6347. I mean, I had the same problem as BaggyT before, with the new 1.23 installed, but it seems now I don't have this problem anymore.

You can manually specify the MPQs (presumably from 1.16 or 1.22) in the profile. You have to, anyway, if you're creating a profile to hook up your mod's custom files.

Yeah that i know but after updating sc remastered when i try edit profiles and and dosent pick auto detect sc version i have 4 options
sc 1.16
sc 1.22 (with new ramps)
sc 1.23 (newest)
sc mod versions
picking mode 1.16 and 1.22(with new ramps) (in 1.22 the data files MPQ's is auto choosen)if choosing these two options the profile comes with a fault saying you need to run the newest file of sc v1.23. = i cant get scmdraft running at the moment at all.

i cant find the mpq files on my comp. but try use the mode 1.23 see if it works on your comp?
the modes 1.16 and 1.22 dosent work on my comp neither. but in those modes it seems it has the mpq files needed to launch scmdraft2 but it shows an error that mode 1.23 needs to be choosen idk why im using the newest installer version. hope this can be fixed soon

i found an updated scmdraft 2 installer that had this fix. i used installer 0.9.9 the installer 0.0.10 have this fixed all good it works for me again now. donno why the link to latest scmdraft 2 here dosent link to that installer, but now ive found it. Thanks ilya
Link for the alpha build 0.9.11 i used this 2019.07.22(WI) installer version when download you get version 0.9.9 that dosent work with sc 1.23
