R.I.P. SC Nibbits. Hopefully you return and go back online once again.
You had so many SCBW maps, and other Blizzard game maps. You even rivaled SC Map Archived on Gitlab and other sites. Now, the times have changed, the big man has fallen. Only a few SC maps database now exist, like Renaka and staredit.net.
Maybe it's too early to say goodbye to SC Nibbits. Maybe they will return one day. They were online this January of 2019, but as of now, the site is down.
Hopefully not for good...
You could see the signs that SC Nibbits was dying, years ago. The forums empty, filled with spammers and scammers. Many functions weren't working, and so on.
Dang, if only someone archived the whole map database of SC Nibbits...
Actually, whose done it? Anyone out there backed up SC Nibbits's map database? I didn't. I should have.
Not even archive.org has archived every single map. Only a tiny few.
What does Nibbits even mean anyways? Lol.

They deserve to be gone if they really were mining bitcoin. There are plenty of other archives you can download maps from.
It's quite sad to see what SC Nibbits came to over several years of its existence. I mean the site felt dead and abandoned before 2018 with no moderation at all, so I wouldn't be surprised that someone hacked/hijacked the site to mine bitcoins. I've always left Ad blocker on while visiting the site, so I never knew about this issue until this year. But still, the site had a huge SCBW maps database and many maps were only exclusively found on that site. Even last year people were uploading their maps to the site. The site had over 15,000 scbw maps uploaded.

Is it worthwhile to revamp the map database on my site? I haven't touched it in years, but also closed down all comments and user accounts ages ago due to spam / bot issues. The parser could be updated to work with more modern protection methods.
A friend of mine (Cool-Knight) has spent over 10 years collecting maps and making a database of his own. He recently created a site for it.

Cool-Knight reports that his database has 24,000+ maps. In fact, it contains a majority of the SC Nibbits database. He is also pretty good at preventing trash/virus files from being published here.
Me and him both believe this can be the greatest SC1 map database to ever exist.

Then there was the alleged 30,000 maps on torrent. No one seems to be seeding it... and probably never will. It was in a zip file so who knows what's inside it, if I recall correctly.
I checked Cool-Knight's site there and it only has some of the Cat n Mouse collection SC Nibbits had. Did Cool-Knight download the newer maps from SC Nibbits from 2017 onwards? He doesn't seem to have any of the Cat n Mouse maps uploaded to the site from 2017 and 2018, or any of Lifebot's uploads from 2017 and 2018. It maybe true that Cool-Knight has many of SC Nibbit's maps, but still a lot are missing.

No, I was not the owner of sc-maps.com I did knew the guy who did long long time ago. At the time I only gotten what I could from sc.nitbits.com. Sadly I could not trust the website anymore...Too many weird things going on in the background didn't feel safe.
What I was told I hold most maps out there.. (I'll try to see in my maps of maps folders. I have soo many maps I still have to go tho, but I have 24,000+ maps on the site hoping to add more ofc!

I even have more maps on my laptop which I have to go tho, and my portable hard drive. lol
