I use all the profiles, it's not just one or two that I can easily hotswap the mpq for. Also gets confusing for my own organizational purposes to have mislabeled mpq files.
If I opt in to use the feature to copy profile settings, I accept that doing so may cause future confusion, no? imo you worry a lot about less-informed users not understanding what they're getting into (e.g. deleting strings). Maybe a one-time pop-up when they first toggle stuff that you're worried about that explains potential drawbacks is in order? Or a pop-up every time that can be toggled off at user discretion.
I was thinking instead of you clicking "new profile", you click "copy profile" and then just adjust the MPQ settings while keeping the rest the way you had already configured.
And using you example, I am the one that got to deal with all the support stuff for people deleting strings even though it had a big warning attached, so I will avoid stuff like that in the future.
Ok.
I'd personally ignore anyone complaining about features after ignoring the accompanying warnings, as opposed to outright removing features. Doing the latter just inconveniences veterans who will are less likely to quit SC/mapmaking.
Ya but in the case of deleting strings, there really wasn't any valid use-case.
Updated version, I hopefully now caught all the corner cases during resize + offsetting... would be great if somebody could mess with it to see if I missed anything.

Thanks. Will take a look sometime tomorrow.
Pylon power field seems to overwrite some unbuildable displays on certain cliffs (doesn't occur on outpost, for example). Default profile.
Not much I can do about that, the color shifts likely weren't intended to be used in that order.
What do you mean? This happens when the brush selection is a building, which by default previews unbuildable terrain and power fields. Are you saying that the default settings weren't intended to be used?

The overlay probably is red for the building placement and same parts green and blue for the aura. rgb. cancels each other out. Change overlay mode (to subtractive or something) or color values (to pure blue).
The SC 8 bit color changes are only multiplicative - what I will try is checking whether I can change the render order. (That is a bit messy though, since the psi display is a sprite and the building placability is terrain)
scmd crash on pressing ctrl + c, also happened while just clicking around once

Is that using the official release or the newest alphas? I fixed a crash a few weeks ago with ctrl key displaying HP bars.
SCMDraft crashes when using more than the default number of colorsets for pcolors (p1 to p15). This is now possible with Neiv's latest work with his mtl plugin (on 1.16.1 and 1.20+). Here's an mpq you can use:
todHere's the error:
The load code verifies various palette lookups match hardcoded sizes and cancels loading if that isn't the case.
So you are modding the minimap and unit color lookup?
Version's 0.9.04, and yeah, it's the partially-displayed healthbar crash, i'll be downloading the alpha that fixes it
Neiv's made it possible to expand the pcolor sets to 256 (from 15), so yes I'm modding that. Works in game.
edit: an album of the stuff, for proof:

I believe you, you don't need to post proof.
Ctrl+C while having a location selected breaks copy/paste on win10 across all applications.

Are you absolutely sure? I just stepped through the code, and it shouldn't even attempt to access the clipboard in location mode.
E: Did you perhaps paste with an empty clipboard? There was one code path that didn't then release the clipboard.
