He lives in toronto, I think. Has a job at a bar and... that's about everything I know. It's been a while since I've spoken to him.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

I've been trying to get into board games, but I've never been into stat-heavy games. I do like games where you can go over the rules in about five minutes, and then maybe if need be, consult the rules later, but other than that, you're set to play. I just don't have the time to develop multiple complicated strategies like in TCGs.

But some friends and I are trying to set up a group to meet at a coffee shop that has bigger tables or long set ups for tabletop gamers, so hopefully we'll pull something together.

Codenames, Hanabi, Coup, Mysterium/Tajemnicze Domostwo are all games that I really enjoy that are very rules-light.

I think some stuff like Survive: Escape from Atlantis, Flash Point or Cosmic Encounter would be good.

Actually Kame, just come visit - I'm sure we can find something you'd like:

Let's play some Nightfall.

she/her

I got kicked out of home in 2014 for a few months. Still finished my compsci courses with decent marks. Started gender transitioning while I was kicked out. Every few months I get into a depressive rut. Last time it happened was February and I ended up dropping my courses. Later moved to Victoria BC to live with a friend, now girlfriend. Looking to transfer to the university nearby in May, and hoping to find work before then.

Well, maybe. I'm having a great time playing video games and watching anime, at least in between the times of waking up from nightmares. Also, a bit SCBW missing, writing hooks and such.

So you changed from hetero to homo while changing your gender identity? That's interesting because often people are homo before (officially) changing gender identity and thus become hetero.

That's a pretty crude and actually silly way to look at it.

Assuming SR is transitioning from male to female, (s)he was always attracted to females. That attraction has not changed. The external genitalia might have or may change in future, but that's about it. Since the labels "homosexual" and "heterosexual" as used by society basically boil down to whether someone is the same 'gender' as you or not, they don't really work when you talk about someone that is transitioning.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Holy shit it's Voyager. Also, I remember you Praetor, just not any specifics either.

Anyway, I haven't played SCBW in like 2 years, and I'll often go days without logging into SEN now. My activity is just barely top30 now. I've missed like 3 years at least by now :massimo: (coincidentally my favorite smiley, since I made it, and now I'll never forget the name of the Italian Prime Minister from '98 to '00).

I used to live in North Carolina with my neighbors Loveless and lil-inferno, but I've moved on and work at a datacenter in Oregon now. Hopefully my team will get some more clients and I'll get to travel more for system installations, but that's not in the cards at the moment.

As far as games are concerned, I dabble in past favorites like sc2, baldur's gate trilogy, osu!, and diablo 2. Somehow I managed to get somewhat addicted to Samurai Siege. Not many new games interest me for whatever reason.

I also enjoy beer now. A lot.

Well I could've said identity changed without a change in sexuality, which is the basically the same because you're using absolute descriptions of sexuality instead of relative ones. I used the relative variant because I felt it would emphasize the difference.

Anyways, I find it interesting to know a homo trans.

Not unlike me. Just I find myself enjoying UFO games and space classics (both rpg and shooter).
However, I gave GTA 5 a shot because it seemed like a well made game and I must say I loved it. The level of dedication and love for detail that was put into the game was impressive for todays standards. Believable and distinct characters. A large worlds with 1000 random things happening which makes it feel alive. A people / vehicle density that feels real and of course top notch graphics, that aim for looking detailed, not just hammer you with lighting effects. Might wanna give it a try.

That's a really nice collection. I struggle to find enough players who will play the more intricate games with me. Co-operative games work quite well for those who dislike complex rules, as not understanding the rules so well + competitive play usually leads to people not wanting to play that game again, whereas with co-op you can keep coaching them on the rules throughout.

In terms of games which are light on rules - Ticket to Ride and Bohnanza (excellent little card game) are pretty good options. Love Letter is also fun (and very short). I personally found Coup to be simple to the point that it isn't much fun. I didn't feel there were too many strategies you could use. A similar(ish) game is Citadels, which I much prefer.

How is working for Amazon? I've read a lot articles saying that working for Amazon is terrible and most people quit after like two years.
Those articles are bogus. If someone is working long hard hours it's because they want to. Also they're not going to can someone over non-trivial medical issues. It can depend on your team though. My roommate works on the deals team and is currently going insane because of the Black Friday deals. I work on last-mile routing, which is a fairly new org. Our team doesn't get any tickets and we get to use new technology, so that's cool.

Things change a lot too. Your entire team can get moved, your manager can change, team members and interns come and go, project focus can shift very rapidly.

So I made a bs linkedin profile so I can look up CTO's and stuff for my new job (we do some shit to get them on the phone).

Not using it for anything.

But somehow Heinermann found me and is my sole profile view. STALKER!

Ok, I'm very confused with the two posts above me, specially knowing Rexy edited hers.

About me: I started majoring in math in my home town. Midway I decided I didn't like the university and I moved to another city and another university. There the courses were quite harder, so I needed more time to study and I also got a gf. This, and Blizzard announcing SCII, were mainly the reasons that led me to leave SEN and stop working on SF:U. After I majored in math I got a master's degree (and got dumped /drama) and now I'm going for the phd, which hopefully I will get in a year and a half from now. That makes, counting school (starting at age 3 in Spain), high school and university 23 years and a half studying. Atleast now they are paying me to do so!

When I finish my phd I plan on leaving pure mathematics and probably getting applying for programming jobs in companies.

EDIT: Forgot to mention my kitchen caught on fire the year I moved out. Wouldn't advise trying it at home...

Magical-Girl Enabler

Let's see...I dropped off of SEN/Maplantis when I went off to college. I majored in math, graduated, and got a job as a programmer at a tech company. Then I decided I didn't like coding, left there, and got a three-month internship at Fantasy Flight Games. That was last year; since then I've been derping around looking for something that sounds interesting and will give me a paycheck. Turns out it's surprisingly hard to find something that meets both of those criteria.

I haven't really done any mods of anything since SEN/Maplantis, but I picked up a D&D habit along the way and spend entirely too much time nowadays making tabletop games.
