Graphics aren't totally blowing me out of the park, but new Fallout - I'm still excited.
Maybe I should give the franchise a spin. I've been resistant because it always looked so damn depressing, but I don't know this looks interesting.

Old Snake: War has changed.

It's certainly not a "happy", "colorful" or "family" franchise á la candy crush, but it's wondrous, intriguing and funny enough so you don't actually get a depressed vibe from it, except from some especially disturbing places. Plus as an artist you'll appreciate the many many small details that went into it.
The new video looks beautiful. One of the things that I appreciate about Bethesda in general is that unlike some other games their pallette appears to contain more than different shades of brown
I have no idea what to put here... So I guess I'll just put this here.

Brown just makes things look dirty and abandoned. Which is what the game is about. At least to me.
At least it's not like Gears A War, a magical world where everything is gray.
Also, when that dog played with that little rocket, all I could think of was that one dog from Over the Hedge where it yells "Play?!"
Magic box god; Suck it Corbo
I was never able to get Fallout to run past the menu screen so i dont have much experience playing it. I did enjoy watching my friends play it though and definitely plan on buying this one.

Wait, you're not planning on skipping Fallout 1&2, right? Everything I said above applies to them as well and despite isometric prerendered graphics the games still play incredibly well, even today, so you'd really miss out.
Didn't the end of 2 piss everyone off?
6 months. you can pre-order now. Why the hell is this a thing?

Nobody plays 1 and 2... ;o
I mean, you could play them, but they're not essential for for playing 3.

You mean the beginning? You start off as a tribesman which put a lot of people off so they never got to see all the nice things. Just 1 thing: It's hard. But I'm sure after FO 1 you got the hang of it.

Its not so bad when you can preorder the would be 60$ game for 46$ though.

I thought the end of the main quest required you to die and people didn't like that. Am I thinking of something else?
That's an option in the third one. I dunno if that happens in the others, too, though.

Potential spoilers
That's Fallout 3, and if you have the Broken Steel DLC (which you should, considering most editions come with all DLC) you can continue past that point since they retcon the story so you survive. It does warn you in vanilla that there's no turning back once you start the end quest, though.
Fallout 4? Bethesda, pls. I really can't wait, I love playing the Fallout games. I just hope this one doesn't crash, leaving me stuck in the stupid hotel room in New Vegas.
It's a bit unfortunate that collector's editions are all sold out in the first day when Fallout 4 was announced.
