Haven't had any problems with lag. In fact:
And if anyone missed it:
Shoot 7 masses into a virus and it'll split into two, shooting one off in the direction of the last mass you shot into it
you can aim it at larger cells and then collect the bits after the explosion
It's now necessary to be aware of this.

Damn lag spikes really ruin it.
I hope Zeach fixes the lag because it's impossible to play right now.
Basically a victim of its own success. Donating is probably the best way to get it fixed.
I unknowingly ate a famous Twitch streamer, Lirik, in front of his audience of ~40k. Dude was getting fed by his viewers.
More adventures of King Joffrey.
I had another one where I was light blue and had 11,000 mass, but the image apparently didn't save.
Someone named their cell "Meryn Trant", then kept eating people and feeding me their mass. Another player named "Winter" was always coming, too.

This happened yesterday, good times.
Then I found a friend! Fed him a few mass and left him to it, he came back half my size! So we went around wrecking everyone, then when I had to go I fed him up
Red classic.

It seems to be using TCP, which is a very unusual choice for a game like this.

Probably you guys all know this, but I definitely see some players don't. When you've split and want to re-join, once you see your cells are starting to overlap, move the cursor into the centre of the screen so the cells move into each other, and you'll join pretty much straight away, which has gotten me out of a sticky situation a couple of times.
There seems to be some minimum time limit that you must stay as separate cells, which seems to be related to your size as well: once you get really big, it takes a long time to join back together (and if you get split into smaller parrts from hitting one of the 'mines', they can rejoin fairly quickly).
So far my record is sitting at #2 for about 5 minutes, which is not too bad given the fairly frequent lag attacks I get where the screen doesn't update at all for 5-20 seconds. One weird thing I had happen once, was the leading player on the map split completely up into a ring of tiny fragments, easily 70-80 separate pieces, and didn't move at all (just stayed there in a ring shape). I happened to be in the area and went from non-charted to #5. I died fairly shortly after though as there was a clan of players who ganged up on me (clans really ruin this game - not designed for them at all).

The minimum time for recombining is 30 seconds but your mass adds to that number; I don't know how much it adds to it.
The ring shape is the new anti-griefing system; someone must have been feeding him (or he was feeding someone else his smaller part and they fed it back to him so he can recombine faster).
Spacebar holding to split farther doesn't work anymore, incidentally.

Seems like the game is a lot faster now, like the size speed penalty is about 1/4th what it was. Makes the game much more hectic and dynamic, but since I'm still getting packet loss about every 2 minutes, and it fucks the game for 5-20 seconds, it's now even more difficult for me to play because when the packet loss hits I'm very likely to die. Sucks.

What is packet loss?

One kind of connection problem. The information you're trying to send or receive doesn't get transmitted.
In my case, packets from the server aren't reaching me for a period of 5-20 seconds, however my pacekts are reaching the server. This has the effect of my screen being frozen, but I can still control my cell on the server by moving my mouse around - just I'm doing it blind and with out of date information. When the packets eventually recover (because it's using TCP), I get a greatly-acceleration display of all the action that just took place since the screen last updated. I'd say about 40% of my deaths are directly from this lag because I can't see what is going on and someone else just eats me, and it contributes to a further 10% where I may not die straight away, but I've travelled into an unsafe environment (that I would have avoided if I could) and subsequently end up being eaten.
This happens regardless of what server I play on. I think there's something in my local ISP network that is dropping the packets, likely thinking that they're TCP and therefore don't matter if they're dropped. Seems to happen regardless of time of day.

20s every 2 min is tough.
Usually it's around 5-10 seconds, but it can be up to 20 (maybe even longer?), and sometimes I can get 3-4 minutes without an interruption, other times I get them a minute apart or so.
I'm considering emailing my ISP to ask what's up.

Lanth,
are you on imgur by the username clarkkey?
Nope.
Just send in a report to my ISP though, should be interesting to see what response I get. I lucked out and had a traceroute fail right in the middle of a packet loss episode, at a stage that isolates the problem to being somewhere within their network or immediate upstream provider.

If anyone didn't notice the Team mode yet, it's pretty fun. The gameplay certainly has a lot more strategy involved.
A lot of people in team mode are real dummies though.
If someone helps me eat a substantial target, I always pay them back with w. A lot of people don't. Also a lot of the massive players (like 6x larger than me, and I'm already big) don't feed their team members, which is ultimately self defeating since it's the weaker players that gradually get overcome by the enemy, until finally the big player themselves gets taken out.
Anyway team mode is pretty much all I play, since the packet loss is a lot more forgiving when you've got allies who won't just eat you.
Been talking to the ISP, it seems like there's either a problem with my router, or the connection to this house. Probably the connection. I've managed to turn on some stability things (at the cost of speed) so now I'm getting interrupted about once every 5-6 minutes, which is a lot more manageable.

Best I've ever done. I was split into 16 pieces so I could eat the viruses just for their mass, and no one could eat any of my bits
My score was 24376
