Hey guys, I haven't been on here for a few years. Some of you might remember me, I was moderately active back in the day.
Anyway, I'm trying to start back up an old project in Brood War, and I need some help.
I've got SCMDraft 2.0 working on my windows 8 Computer, but I can't get anything else to work.
(starforge, starcraft exteme, guiedit, etc.)
SCMDraft 2.0 would work fine, except that its trigger editor is crappy/non existent. Does anyone have information on how to get any of these programs working in windows 8? Please let me know.
None.
Go under Triggers > Classic Map Triggers.
Unfortunately I can't offer much newer than SCMDraft at the moment, like you I've been unable to get the older programs working. Regardless here are some options:
Here's the text trig format:
http://puu.sh/gy2py/7a03ec2946.txt should be in your scmdraft folder too.
http://www.stormcoast-fortress.net/temp/Scmdraft2-setup.rar obligatory link to latest SCMDraft (it's hard to find).
Trig Edit Plus can be used within SCMDraft.
Oreo Triggers the setup is a bit difficult but after that it's quite impressive if you're a programmer, if you're not you might find the language... hard.
Chkdraft - my editor-in-progress; has an enhanced text trig editor 100% compatible with SCMDrafts, the classic triggers view is incomplete (as are many other portions) but you can still edit triggers individually through classic triggers using text trig format.
ScQuickLaunch if you do a lot of testing as you map I recommend this to speed up menus/remove game countdown timer/avoid color problems.
In all cases hitting unblock file will help the programs function better, make sure this is done to the SCMDraft download before installing
If you're having trouble using SCMDraft with a particular map (rather than all maps) this has reportedly helped several people
