As the community prepares for destruction, I'd like to take a moment to remember all the times we've spent together. And I'd also like to ask: How will you remember SEN?

For me, I'll remember the wonderful (and terrible) rounds of Mafia we've completed. I liked the game so much I taught it to my real-life friends and spent dozens of hours playing it with them.

I'll also remember Serious Discussion and Lite Discussion, where we argued for little reason. That is where I learned that I don't want to argue with people on the Internet any more.

Making maps was fun, but I was never able to make anything notable. The only map of any interest was The Industrial World, which never became popular.

But I think the thing I'll remember the most is all the humor that radiated from Null. Null made me laugh, and I enjoyed my time here.

I learned the same thing from SEN.

Also, I will remember Kame and Corbo the trolls, Devlin's secret relationship with Kame, and all the bullshit-controversy I've (tried to) created over stupid things (think about when payne used to be a mod, or anarcho-communist argumentations, or smiley).
Devourer, Lethal_Illusion, Kaias, and qPirateKing were all very good friends with whom I've spent hours chatting with.
Meeting up with samsizzle in Vancouver.
The fucking Magic Boxes which always screw me over.

If you've all learned not to argue over the internet, then all is well and right in the world. We done good.

I will remember not doing much and hanging around in the Null forum

I'll remember learning a great deal about the features of Stacraft 1. All this knowledge helped me become the map-maker I am today... Even if I only finished one map (So far).

Easily the best memory I had was just making random little concept maps and stuff to just play with friends, see what sticks. The immense popularity of Pirate Dyne when I first started working on it and the amount of support for finishing it that was put on me from the friends I met over the years.

JaFF, Mq3, Lethal, samsizzle, ShadowRune, Fwop, Cecil... Had a lot of fun just fucking around for the good two years that it felt like quality of maps was really up there, but popularity for something that wasn't already in the mainstream of games was down significantly. I blame Nude's Sand Castle Wars.

You're saying (maps like) SCW pushed the community from trying unknown quality maps to simple but fun mainstream maps? Because if that's your argument I'd say it's the people that did it. Fewer players, meant harder to get full houses which meant more frustration when not hosting a popular map. Also influx of younger players that may not have taken it as seriously and just looked for some quick fun. Casualization is exactly what happened with the entire gaming market. Or are you blaming SCW for that too?

I'll always remember the time that I posted a bunch of hentai on SEN. My tastes have since been refined and I were ever to do it again, I would post both higher quality hentai as well as commentary a few of the issues surrounding porn and sex workers in general.

If an elected leader ever says they want to meet with stakeholders in the sex work industry but net behind closed doors without any involvement from actual sex workers, I guarantee you live in a disgusting oppresive regime. Also fuck the West

I would be overjoyed to be allowed to create such a topic but SEN is probably made up of a bunch of prudes. :^)

For example, if I were to discuss queer sex, it would probably be marked as inappropriate or fetish (fulfilling homophobia and transphobia), but if I were to discuss sex between straight cis people, it would probably be seen as "scientific" since I'm discussing "the natural process of procreation".
Although on second thought I'm sure that wouldn't happen as I have faith in SEN to be as mature as it is dead.

it sure is. Did you enjoy it? I personally really enjoyed it. The art was pretty nice, but really, fetishization of people of colour, pedophillic subtext, rape... Honestly, porn is pretty ridiculous. ultimately, I'm not particularly bothered by it, moreso that it is contaminated by a society built on exploitation.
