I have waited on this thing for half an hour and it still won't upload, is there any way to get around this because this is getting old fast.

Hello

Further information would be nice.
Are you hitting the upload button and it just loads like forever?
Or is there any error returned?

Also, can you tell me the filesize of your package?

It's been "loading" for over an hour.

file size: 2,705,850 KB

Jul 1 2014, 8:36 pm Devourer Post #4

Hello

You are trying to upload over 2.5GB, which surely takes a lot time to transfer; problem could be your upload speed.
Although, even if you actually manage to transfer it, our script will refuse this file since it is too large in size.

Than what can I do?

are the any other sites I can upload this to? because I am going to be beyond pissed if I wasted a couple weeks of my time for nothing.

Jul 1 2014, 8:43 pm Devourer Post #6

Hello

Well you could split the file up into several parts and upload it here, I guess that is okay (though I do not make the rules).
Other sc1-mapping-databases are most likely to refuse that file as well. You could try something like uploading it on any fileupload service (fileupload.net or whatnot, just google some) and spread the link in our forum.
You could then also create a .txt file, zip it, upload it in our database. The .txt file would contain the purpose of the .txt file and provide the link to the fileservice where your file is hosted.
Upload that to our database and prove the file-description to alert the user that this is like a "pseudo"-file and provide a link in the description as well. That is totally okay.

However, please consider that uploading 2.5GB will take quite long no matter where you try to upload it, since I assume that you do not have a very expensive or special connection.
Your upload-speed is most likely causing the long loading time.

So I tried separating them into more manageable pieces

340278 KB is the first one and guess what?

it did the same thing.

Hello

http://www.speedtest.net/de/
You may want to check how fast you are actually uploading.
Upload speed is -usually- by far smaller than download speed.

Uploading 350 MB is still a lot. Even 100MB can be quite a hassle to upload.
105MB is the maximum filesize we are accepting in our database. If you plan on uploading that, you want to be patient on your end. It will take some time.

Cartography Artisan

340 mb aka 1/3 gb is still huge and prolly over size limit

Try a service like https://www.box.com for uploading

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

You realize 340mb is still absurdly massive, correct? That's the size of an SD feature length movie.

You essentially have three options:

1) Pay for a filesharing service that will allow you to upload ridiculously large files, and then upload it there.

2) Split your files down to a maximum of 100mb per piece, and then find a free service that allows you to upload files in bulk. Uploading it here would be too tedious, and we don't have much server space to spare (and probably don't want to burn the bandwidth) for multi-GB projects.

3) Set up your file for torrenting, and then seed it yourself for other people to download.

Edit: I typed this up on my phone, and now I look ridiculous because I was turtle-ninja'd twice.

This is bullshit, honestly, i've uploaded similar sized campaign packs before without issue, now all of the sudden my only options are to buy shit (which is not an option) or split things into confusing messes, I already split it into four parts.

This fucking ridiculous, never had this issue before

Yeah, I'm pretty pissed right now, tired of this crap blindsiding me out of left field.

It isn't bullshit at all. SEN has always had a size limit on uploads. Unless you're complaining about uploading elsewhere, in which case we can't really help with that.

But it is bullshit, because when I uploaded the other FIVE Campaign packs (which should be near the same size) I didn't have an issue uploading it.

So it kinda is.

ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Which ones are those? Are you sure you uploaded them here? If so, can you link them?

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

None of the things you've uploaded are 2.5GB. Just quickly glancing at the list, the largest file I see that you've submitted to SEN is closer to 30MB.

Hello

To be exactly, I can read that your biggest upload is Star Adairis Civil Conflict.zip, which has the size of around 91.64MB.

2.5GB is pretty massive for a SC campaign; cinematics?
