Pineapple does not complement almost any regular pizza topping. A specialized pizza (e.g., Hawaiian) is necessary to tolerate such a topping. I have nothing against specialized pizzas (I had a spicy Thai pizza with chicken, cucumber and bean sprouts on a peanut sauce the other day), but to say I like pineapple outside of a Hawaiian pizza would be a lie. With other toppings, such as chicken, bacon, mushrooms, onion, peppers, sausage, and pepperoni, they can belong on almost any pizza, and so these are what I would consider to be "true" pizza toppings.
Plus, pineapples are yellow. So scary.

Pineapple compliments many other toppings that you can get at any pizza place. I'm not sure how well it tastes with meat other than ham since I think all pizza meat toppings are disgusting, but it goes really well with green peppers in my experience. A cheese pizza with just pineapple on it might not be absolutely delicious, but it's still pretty good. Would I buy it? Probably not, but if it was there for me to eat, I would definitely grab a slice.
