Is there anywhere I can buy a small amount of Dogecoins? I was thinking something like $10 or $20 worth. All the major exchanges only trade dogecoins for bitcoins other cryptocurrencies, and I don't have any bitcoins other cryptocurrencies. I'm willing to buy some bitcoins but they only sell them in quantities too large for my use.

EDIT: Thanks, Farty, but I meant I'm looking for a place I can trade USD directly for Dogecoin.

I believe you can trade Litecoins for dogcoins (but I can't check at coinedup right now because it appears to be down), and those are around your price range for one.

EDIT:
It's back.
https://coinedup.com/OrderBook?market=DOGE&base=LTC
According to that page and BTC-E, 1 litecoin is, as of now, 40000 doge or $16.39.

I don't know what to use to get USD in to this system ... xD Or out of, for that matter.

Now this is confusing me. After getting my cgminer up to a vastly superior level, I no longer seem to be getting nearly as many accepts. In fact all I see is rejected now.

Any reason for this? Should I be letting this work as hard as it is yet?

Farty I love you, that was it. But now I'm getting HW:6.

Restarting with a lower thread concurrency seems to put me at HW:4 now. Largest share 97.1k. Bueno.

I think he was more under the impression that mining was more like torrenting and used all of the bandwidth.

At first I was worried it was like that. Then I saw a very useful way to use my stupidly powerful graphics card.

Edit: Now next question, what does EVERYTHING mean inside cgminer? Most importantly the number labed A: as it appears to be growing on mine.

I was typing a bunch of this up when I couldn't remember some of it, then I remembered it was in the readme. :P

Code
The output line shows the following:
(5s):1713.6 (avg):1707.8 Mh/s | A:729  R:8  HW:0  WU:22.53/m

Each column is as follows:
5s:  A 5 second exponentially decaying average hash rate
avg: An all time average hash rate
A:  The total difficulty of Accepted shares
R:  The total difficulty of Rejected shares
HW:  The number of HardWare errors
WU:  The Work Utility defined as the number of diff1 shares work / minute
    (accepted or rejected).

GPU 1: 73.5C 2551RPM | 427.3/443.0Mh/s | A:8 R:0 HW:0 WU:4.39/m

Each column is as follows:
Temperature (if supported)
Fanspeed (if supported)
A 5 second exponentially decaying average hash rate
An all time average hash rate
The total difficulty of accepted shares
The total difficulty of rejected shares
The number of hardware erorrs
The work utility defined as the number of diff1 shares work / minute

The cgminer status line shows:
ST: 1  SS: 0  NB: 1  LW: 8  GF: 1  RF: 1

ST is STaged work items (ready to use).
SS is Stale Shares discarded (detected and not submitted so don't count as rejects)
NB is New Blocks detected on the network
LW is Locally generated Work items
GF is Getwork Fail Occasions (server slow to provide work)
RF is Remote Fail occasions (server slow to accept work)

The block display shows:
Block: 0074c5e482e34a506d2a051a...  Started: [17:17:22]  Best share: 2.71K

This shows a short stretch of the current block, when the new block started,
and the all time best difficulty share you've found since starting cgminer
this time.

I think you want A to be growing.

FedoraCoin now live. Get it while it's hot and easy!

A side note is that all of these duplicate crypto currencies are really silly and actually hurt the value of bitcoin/litecoin. If we're lucky though, we can make a quick buck or two.

Not even gonna bother rockz.

They're just stealing value from legitimate coins. Although BTC has backing thanks to overstock.com.

After a successful night of mining, I'm up to 6.8k Doge, which if I did my math correctly should be worth about ~2.8 USD, or 0.004386784 BTC at the moment. Not bad. I look forward to seeing Overstock take BTC. Mostly because I've seen video games sold for 0.048 BTC, and thats a hell of a price.

built another computer for my dad and put my 5770 in it. It's getting 150 kH/s now so I'm up to about 650 kH/s.

Mined nothing last night because I was on a crappy pool, but this morning I switched over to hgn.me and got 400k tips over 9 hours or so.

At some point in time I'm probably going to switch back over to LTC or DOGE.

That's called missing the boat on purpose. My point is to spread the BTC wealth around a bit by flooding the market with joke currency. Everything is dependent on BTC. By the way, sign up for a mtgox account ASAP and get it validated, as it takes a week before you can actually use it. You don't want to be caught holding all your BTC when it crashes and not be able to cash out.

Whats, to your best ability to answer, the reason why we should use a Japanese site (Mt.Gox) over say Coinbase (Califonia based)? Before you answer I did notice the price difference, but I'd just like to know your opinion and experiences. Is Japan's exchange just naturally higher? Or is it rather easier to sell on? Is it because they have better account features, maybe such as sending payments to Paypal instead of a bank account?

No particular reason. I will say that mtgox has been around the longest, is more widespread, and really it doesn't matter where the actual money comes from, so long as you have an active account which will pay out.
