Let me show you how to hump without making love.

In the end, nothing changed and the guy has given up apparently. So... Any tips?

So far the crashes include:

StarCraft 2
All Points Bulletin: Reloaded
Froze last night while I slept, nothing notable was running

I am able to do high quality streams and such, so this isn't a problem with overburdening my PC or anything like that... I have no idea what's going on.

As I've already told you via shoutbox do a clean uninstall of your video drivers and DirectX libraries and anything else that falls into a similar category you might have installed. This includes CUDA, Virtu, converters and other junk that came with some driver setup. Then uninstall StarCraft using an advanced uninstaller like Revo uninstaller to remove as many traces of it as possible.
Then reinstall your graphics drivers, DirectX and StarCraft 2 in that order and of course, the newest versions of it.

Since you already did a clean uninstall of SC2 it might not be necessary to do it again.

If this fails I'd suspect a problem with your network card or drivers. Try a WLAN stick or add-on LAN card to connect to the Internet and reinstall / update the drivers of your current LAN card.

Obviously you could also try contacting Blizzard support but they are likely to give similar instructions, so you could as well do them first.

Otherwise tuning tools of all sorts (e.g. SSD tweaker, NTFS compression, HDD encryption, RAM booster, overclocking tools, etc.) could be conflicting with something. These kinds of relations are kinda hard to find out but (using Revo) I'd wipe anything you don't absolutely need from the computer.

If all else fails format C:\ and reinstall Windows. Actually considering how sneaky the problem seems to be I recommend it right after you did a clean reinstall of your video drivers and DirectX. Sometimes those errors are hard or even impossible to find and reinstalling Windows would just be the quickest way, all things considered.

Good Luck and I expect to hear from you no earlier than in a week. :P

Oh and btw.:

Spending more than 4 hours with a single error is rather pointless when a backup and clean reset can be completed in that time.

Well Nude, I tried that when you told me and was having trouble finding out the way to do it, there are a lot of shitty programs that don't even get the job done but say they can. Anyways...

To be honest I want to do this, but NCIS took my OS cd (long story) and I am skeptical about alternatives, PM me if you have assistance in that department.

Well while not being a specialized tool for drivers I guess Revo should still be able to do the job. What may be left will probably not be significant enough to cause an error. It's also quite easy to use so you should at least give it a try. Just make sure to use advanced mode.

If the installation is too broken there's also a tool from microsoft that's designed to clean broken installations. It has helped me out at times and I can send it to you if you want.

EDIT:
Here it is but be warned, this is designed for Windows XP and has a slight possibility of corrupting your OS so consider it a last resort before having to reinstall Windows. On the bright side it's just a simple click so if you're gonna reinstall Windows anyway you could as well try that first.

I want to do this but I do not have the disc that I bought and buying a new one for $$$.$$? Microsoft can suck my dick.

EDIT: Looks like I might have found a solution for the disc problem.

WHY. So I have formatted my drive and reinstalled Windows 7, however it won't complete and keeps giving me an error message that it cannot configure one or more system components... Cool.

Personally I don't have a problem with stealing making an illegal copy of the CD if you have a legit key either, though you may be under closer watch. I think I might actually have access to a windows 7 iso through work, but honestly you'd be safer torrenting it.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

I have a key for Windows Ultimate 64-bit, yep. I downloaded the ISO from Digital River, who apparently have the license to distribute it. I burned it to a CD using Microsoft's Windows 7 DVD/USB Bootable program and the install seems to work, but it tells me that it needs to restart to complete the process and about five minutes during the completion process after it restarted, it tells me that it cannot continue. It has also gone blue screen twice since then. If it was just a hardware problem all this time and I can't fix it by at least Friday, I am going to go crazy.

Note I have restarted the installation about twenty times now, none of them have worked and it generally gives the same error. I have tried disabling some things through the device manager, but that didn't seem to work.

Notable things is that my GFX card doesn't show up in the Device Manager, not sure if anything else is missing that might be causing problems. I also removed two of my three sticks of RAM because I somehow remember there being problems with running more than 2GB of ram during the installation process.

I am currently trying the Memory Diagnostic and it says there are problems. I tried running a disk check prior to reading your message, that was one of the blue screens that had occurred and it didn't happen until about four minutes in. The other was just a random occurrence during one of the installation completions that normally gives the error.

On top of that I downloaded the wrong version, my key doesn't work for SP1 CDs... Whatever fuckers. I found a way around the error for now that lets me just continue the process anyway through the command prompt ( oobe\msoobe ).

Why haven't you said so in the first place? I was assuming you were discreetly asking for a way to pirate it, which is not allowed on SEN.
It isn't illegal to download the Windows DVD. As you noticed MS is distributing it themselves. It's illegal to torrent a version that has a crack on it.

MS failed on the part where you enter your key during install. It basically always says wrong key. Just leave it blank and continue to the 30 days evaluation version of Windows. When Windows is set up you can go to the activation screen and enter the key there and it will work. Internet recommended.

That's pretty common after a fresh reinstall because WIndows hasn't found a driver for it. Just install the driver and it should show up.

How are you seeing your device manager if the WIndows installation never finishes?

Since you have 4 RAM sticks figure out which one is causing the problems by leaving out one at a time until you get a blue screen. Then proceed normally.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

I am bringing up the command prompt and summoning it. It "completes" the installation, it doesn't fuck up until the finalization process.

Thus far I was actually able to get it to the desktop by using the command prompt to force msoobe.exe to run and it continued the installation even though there was the error. I was able to install my GFX card by downloading the information online, so the entire system was running fine. It asked me to restart and I did, because running off the default GFX capability just isn't going to fly, I have several laptops for stuff that doesn't require a good GFX card. When it was starting up, it wanted to do some kind of installation, but I noticed that the resolution wasn't 800x600 or whatever the default is, it was using the oh so familiar 1920x1200 that I fell in love with.

During this process of installing updates while windows was still loading (no desktop yet), it said it failed and then blue screened a few minutes later. When it started began an endless cycle of finishing the POST and checking the USB, which my mobo always does. Then flash and my mobo would start again, without ever losing power, endlessly.

At this point I am frustrated beyond belief, go cool down for a bit and come back with a clear head. I decide to dismantle my PC, super clean it and put it back together. Note that this is something I do a few times a year, so I know how to do it. When I put it all back together, I notice that the cable connecting my HDD to my mobo is damaged, apparently it ate the part that made sure the prongs fit nice and snug, it sits slightly melted inside the cable but it is removable if I really try. Note that this apparently never gave it any trouble and the cord works as intended, fits and holds itself in place. It's a little wiggly if I force it, but what cable isn't?

This is where it got weird, my mobo wasn't posting and I had no idea what the fuck was going on. I ensured everything was right, tried again, then repeated this process three times. After I let it do it's thing for a little longer, it gave me a checksum and couldn't find the BIOS. It restarted, brought up a profile menu and the only option was Default (1). Chose it and well, here I am once again, full circle.

The BIOS problem *might* come from damaged RAM. Especially if it "fixes" by itself.
However there's also a chance your mobo actually went bad (could show the behaviors your described) but there's no easy way to confirm that. Just assume it is when you've ruled out everything else, including your damaged cable.

You can try reinstalling Windows *again* but make sure you don't let it download updates automatically. But at this point I'd assume a hardware problem.

Try removing everything you don't absolutely need (e.g. video card, extra hdd/ssd, more than 1 RAM, etc.) and see if your computer still bugs. If it does try to replace the parts you can.

personally I find memtests to be somewhat unreliable. The don't always detect bad ram and sometimes they even report good ram as bad.
