I previously received a notice from Positively informing me he most likely could not participate this round, and it seems that is what happened. Although I won't disclose his reasons, I will say they are legitimate in nature. Taking that into account, along with the fact he gave me fair warning, and has participated actively thus far, I will be delaying this round's conclusion until the day after he returns. In the meantime, contracts can still be created.

The round will last until 8 PM after Positively is back, or 12 hours after he's back, whichever comes second.

Edit: Positively will reply to the thread to notify the other players that he's back.

Congratulations Raitaki and good work, Positively. I thought I'd win, but things didn't come out as I expected

Hm.. I'm sure I know almost everything about the contracts between people, but I can't even guess the content of the contract between Raitaki and rayNimagi. Did rayNimagi sell JUST ONE of his votes for 90,000,000$? Really? Is one vote worth that much? Or, is this a genius plan of Raitaki who figured out what I was trying to do?

And Az, I can't quite know why I have merely 53 votes. I think I'm supposed to get 21 votes at the end of round 10 (5 due to a contract with Raitaki - he's supposed to vote for me, and 16 due to contracts with Raitaki - He should transfer that many to me) and lose 4 (3 due to a contract with Positively, 1 due to one with rayNimagi). So, my net vote gain should be 17, and 42 plus 17 isn't 53 for sure. What the hell had happened?

Well, the results don't change even after that, but this should make me look less foolish. This should explain the reason why I had this little amount of money even though Raitaki has more votes than me.

Now that the game is over, I reveal what I had planned:

In round 1 I did:



Using this, I got 50 votes from Raitaki and he got 50 from me. Basically, you can't be the failure as long as you have at least 1/n of the total votes, where n is the number of players. Things got complicated as some people got inactive, but anyways, I thought I'd never be the failure as long as this is in effect.

After some rounds, everyone except we four got out of the game and rayNimagi sent Positively and me some PMs:


So, Positively and rayNimagi were basicaly planning to exchange votes between them and make Raikati isolated. Since I was bound to the contract with Raitaki, I agreed only to the ones where I receive votes and ran away. This way I was able to get 6 additional votes, geting ahead of Rai, although I lost some money in the process. Plus, I bought 6 votes from Raitaki with 10,000,000$. That's why I have so many votes right now.

After that, I tried to sell votes with money. I said "If you don't buy votes from me, I'm sure you're gonna be the failure. Hahaha! So buy votes from me NOW!", but no one was listening to me. I lied as many times as I can to make them listen to me and used some pretty neat tricks, but nothing changed. I was pretty short on money, so I launched my genius plan B.

I did some math and figured out that Raitaki's gonna have exactly 50 votes as the game ends unless he's got some other contracts (which is what exactly happened). So, I sold rayNimagi and Positively some votes in a very cheap price so that their votes would be exactly 50 too. They did agree to this, so I thought my plan was perfect. If things went as I planned, all of you three would have been the failure with $-100,000,000, while I would have had about $60,000,000.

Well, Things got wrong for me as Raitaki got careful. He somehow bought 1 vote from rayNimagi, and that screwed my plan. I don't know if he expected this or has been just a bit more careful, but anyways, that ruined my plan for a tie - the evilest plan where I become the only winner (and the champion) and all other players fail with a great amount of debt.

You are correct It seems I overlooked it while updating the vote count.

Actually, it was only $9 million, not $90 million. Around round 4 I had agreed to sell Raitaki one vote under the condition that I had at least two more votes than the lowest player going into the last round (see below).


Almost every other round, I was swapping five-for-five with Positively, except when I tried to make an anti-Raitaki alliance around round 5. (I don't hate Raitaki, I just wanted to win, and he was in the lead. We have to create a balance of power, right? ). Anyways, that failed, so I tried to make sure that my balance would be positive at the end of the game. I reasoned that as long as Raitaki's balance was negative, he couldn't win. Thinking that zzt or Positively would end up with the least votes, I only bought one vote from zzt on the last round. In retrospect I should have bought just two more, which would have prevented me from being the failure.

As I understand the rules for player ranking the others would've become the failures, as you say, but you would've become a loser because you didn't have a positive balance.
Az, can you clear this up?

So, if all other remaining players had become the failure, 1/8 of their money would have been given to me. (But Az, I think this should have been 1/7, since we started the game with 8 players. Actually, in my most honest opinion, this game's greatest feature is 'zero-sum', so if I were you, I would have given 1/3 since there were 4 players left at that moment. Well, I would have been a winner if this was 1/3.)

Anyways, if my plan went right, since they had $326M in total, I would have got at least $41M. Since I already had $64M at the end of the game, I would have had $105M, and that's enough for making me a winner. Well, even if it wasn't going to make me win, I would have done it anyway because it makes me the player with the best result.


Actually, I think the game would have been a bit more thrilling if being the failure just took away $100M (What the original game did). This creates an interseting strategy - if a player negotiates very well and somehow gets additional $100M by selling his votes, he will become a winner too even though he became the failure. Actually, considering that a player actually tried this in the original game, this might have been funny.

Whoa. Holy cow, zzt, nice triple alliance you got there. I'll have you know that in round 8, I've dangled for Positively a lifeliine in the form of a contract where I'd sell him 1 vote for $5 million, and it seems he didn't take it. If he had, then we would have switched places and he'd have been Champion. I was aware you guys had been trading for a while, and I thought you were going to use your illusion of being potential Failure to sell unnecessary votes and get money for a positive balance and leave Positively with only a little, so I decided to get some from him first, as by my calculations if the Failure had $81,000,000,001 or less money I'd end up with a non-positive balance and lose

Also, the contract with ray was already made some time prior as a safeguard, before I had the brains to remember I would have to lose $100 mil at the end of the game even if I had the most votes Since it wouldn't go into effect if ray only had 1 vote more than Positively, so I tried working against that possibility a bit to avoid shelling out the $9 mil, but then you showed up and offered me $10 mil so I was like oh okay

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAITAKI WON. MY WHOLE GAME IS RUINED.

zzt you lied to me You said that Raitaki would lose. That was my ONLY condition for trading with anyone other than Ray, that Raiboob would lose. >:o
