Could the logo be combined into 1 .jpg image please, currently it's 8 different png images mixed together which screws up performance if you don't fast internet. Also, gzipping the site would be a plus for pageload too.
None.
You can change your theme to accommodate your slower internet speed, but I'm sure some optimisation on the site's end could do the trick as well.

Resize your browser's page and you'll see why it uses multiple images. If we are to combine some of the images, we shouldn't sacrifice the scaling ability we have now.

Though on your edit's note...if SEN somehow had a minimal theme or mobile optimization...that would be most awesome
It was suggested awhile back when I went on one of my rants about increasing avy size.

Being currently on my phone i cant agree that SEN is too slow.
maybe some people would benefit from a low width variant, though personally I can browse just fine.

You know what would be cool? Adding more images to fill the spaces in scaled up versions.

Eh it isn't slow perse, but some mobile optimization would be nice...for example, I can't use the drop down menus on my phone.
That's a problem with your phone. I can use the drop-down menus on mine just fine.

Max 3 images.
when turtle came out I tried to get it optimized but corbo sucks at that and nobody wanted to fix it.

Same here.
Well that's lame. What type of phones or OS do you guys use?

I use the Nexus 4 with Android 4.2 with Chrome Mobile. I have to be fast on the dropdowns because clicking on it will expand the menu
and start loading the page. I use the Epic skin if that matters.

Please consider switching from dial-up to a superior service.
@Roy: As for why the dropdown menu works like that on android, it's because triggering proper mouseover events on touchscreen devices is tricky. The way Chrome currently implements it is by tapping then holding your finger in place for a short period of time. iOS opts to have the first tap trigger mouseover and the second tap trigger the link. I assume the reason that Chrome doesn't have this behavior is because Apple patented their method of handling mouseovers.

Sony Ericsson XPeria Pro with Android 4.0 and Dolphin Mini browser.
Every time I load sen it takes a good 30 seconds before all that mess does download, and I have 350kbps down.
Only site with that problem too that I go to. Opera btw.

If you want the fast version of SEN, go to your settings and disable the shoutbox. Every time I cleared the shoutbox out I could swear the site sped up, but IP would tell me not to clear it so I stopped doing it. Now that I disabled it, everything has been loading super fast. This means SEN needs to either clear the shoutbox or get more efficient shoutbox code. (Having the shoutbox disabled also means I don't get frustrated at the cesspool that it is, so it's a win-win for me.)
