It does only blow up if the Vigilante is visited by someone. But if someone did visit the Vigilante tonight and the Vig died tonight, that'd be a huge blow for the town, especially if the person who visited him is town-aligned.

I re-worded the Paranoia ability so hopefully it is more clear now. Basically it is like a voluntary Bomb role ability.

No, I won't be terribly active this game. My dorm has an internet issue that is currently unresolved, so I'm only able to get on the internet by dragging my laptop to another building. No. I re-worded it again to change "target" to "visit". Think of it as if the Vigilante booby traps the room, and anyone who comes to visit will set off the trap killing the Vigilante and all people nearby who are there to visit the Vigilante. It really isn't that complicated.

Hopefully that clears it up so I can go back to the "I don't want to answer questions" thing.

Oh, in that case, read my strategy. You'd realize that the Vigilante wouldn't be using Paranoia on the first night if you read it properly.

Since the Scientist's ability isn't a visit, does this mean the Vigilante cannot kill a Scientist by using Paranoia? If so, there's an even better version of my strategy:

1) Vigilante publicly claims.
2) Vigilante always uses Paranoia. No townie should visit because the Vigilante publicly claimed.
3) Scientist tests the Vigilante to verify that he isn't a Cylon.

If not, my original strategy of Vigilante publicly claiming and doing nothing on the turn to be tested (during which he is protected) and then using Paranoia on all future turns is still a viable option.

Is anyone opposed to this strategy?

Scientist should switch to Demon to confirm that he isn't a Cylon. Investigate does not visit the player, so it won't trigger Paranoia or risk the Scientist's life in the event Paranoia is triggered.

My original post was the first line questioning Roy's idea. The first edit was me admitting to being Vigilante. The second edit was me crossing out my question, as Devlin cleared it up in a post that he deleted only minutes after posting it. In his post, he quoted the Scientist's investigation ability and noted that it does not count as a visiting action.

This. I was thinking he was scummy earlier when I read something he said about Paranoia, but I somewhat dismissed it. Then again, this game it almost feels like he's trying to hide and falseclaim.

A conflict of information between Aristocrat and Demon? Couldn't be!

I was fumbling around with the idea that there'd be more than one Vigilante, due to the nature of the Hitman's Stalk and Seductress' Influence abilities, but I concluded that there weren't enough players for this to be the case. Therefore, one of you is probably lying.

However, Aristocrat claiming a claimed role would be the dumbest bluff I can think of, and a blood test is (presumably) set up for Demon to verify his alignment. Maybe there are two Vigilantes in this game.

I felt uneasy that night. I paced around the common room looking to find some reassurance that hope was still worthwhile. I remember looking around and seeing so many uncertain faces lost in thought. I couldn't take it anymore. I figured getting a drink would help. It definitely did.

The bar was lively, which I suppose is typical despite the clear threat of human-looking Cylons walking among us. I couldn't believe it. People were going on as if nothing was wrong. Frak. Can we take a break for a moment?

Is it recording? Okay, so the bar. I don't remember anything out of the ordinary at that point. I was trying to find solace in the bottom of a bottle, that's for damn sure.

I did find it odd that the bar was as loud as it was. People were having a good time, they didn't seem to care. Some people were even flirting. I mean I guess if life as we knew it was coming to an end, why not end with a bang, right? [Laughing] There was one woman there I had my eye on, but she didn't seem interested. She was way out of my league anyway, you know? She also looked like she might have been waiting for someone else, maybe. I'm not sure.

It didn't seem like much activity took place otherwise. Um. At one point security arrived to send someone to the brig, but I didn't really catch why. Maybe she just couldn't handle her liquor. [Laughing] I don't blame her, the stuff is frakking disgusting. It makes moonshine look like sugar water.

Let's take a break for now, and we'll get to the next one in a bit, alright?
