ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
Hello there kids, tonight I am going to tell you the story of how I killed SEN by reviving it.
So welcome to something that has never been done before and let's talk about some...
SEN CONSPIRACY THEORIESIt all started a rainy night, right after a few three or maybe five months after I was banned (the first time). I was talking to mike (I'm going to take a shot here, after all, all of SEN's admins have been named michael), whom you may know as isolated_purity or the guy that handed over SEN to Devlin after he have had SEN handed to him by yoshi (also mike) because he was just fed up with the community. The events of maplantis (which he made aftwer handing over SEN were one of the most epic moments on SC1 and we'll leave that for another night).
Talking to him (IP) I mentioned how SEN needed more promotion, more publicity and OVEREXAGGERATE all of its crappy content, like Nazis. Hey, Nazis did it, their propaganda took them only so far. Either way I also completely redesigned in..., sadly, MS Paint, the DLDB to further give him ideas how things should actually be. (I was still banned at this point). Later on I had just SO MANY IDEAS that he said something like "yeah, I get it but who would do that". Obviously I didn't offer myself for the job.
Nah, just kidding. I did it. And that's all it took. A few seconds later I was not only compltely unbanned. I had FULL ADMINISTRATION POWERS. I was a fucking admin. From being in the void to being an administrator. BEAT THAT, BITCHES. Either way I did have a plan. My position was "PR Administrator", I mean, what kind of bullshit is that, really? Why does a site really needs a public relations administrator, specially when it was such an inactive community, maybe it was going to help? Maybe? Just maybe?
But I had a plan, of course I had a plan, I *am* Corbo after all, plan was basically revive SEN with nazi-style eye-candy propaganda, make everything we did look so awesome to attract newcomers and new users, I made a completely new "news post" style which required me to do several images and post them (you could probably find a few posts like that if you scroll waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the news forum). I implemented my redesign of the DLDB, which surprisingly sucked less than your current design.
I soon realised that things needed to CHANGE MORE. Because why not?
I completely redesigned the site. Thus, turtle was born. Single handedly forced devourer to implement it as fast, however, his lack of experience on coding (back then) made the execution of the skin so poorly. It sucks even more now with a lot of changes that have been made. I did the complete "forum board" and the DLDB (posting and news and other pages are still under progress, sorry guys) and all it took to make such a crappy skin was 33 minutes. I counted them. (I gotta admit it was already crap to begin with, but it was THAT BAD and it didn't suck THIS MUCH).
So with this changes done the entire SEN being redesigned, the forum system completely changed, the forums split into two parts, SC1 and SC2 we were "ready to take on SC2 when it was due to be released".
But I had a plan. I had ANOTHER plan.
My goal was never to help SEN, my goal was to, for some reason, destroy it even more. Why? Because why the fuck not!
How? I knew that SC2 was coming, that SC1 was doomed, that the b.net was going to become obsolete, people would just ditch SC1 for SC2 and I knew for sure that people on SEN would never switch their beloved SC1, because why not!
So I not only split the community in half. One that was destinated to die and one part that was never going to grow. So with me knowing that SEN couldn't even handle ONE community, how could it handle two? I then made, that the half that wasn't even supposed to born (grow), to be set as default for the site. Leaving that community you should have always kept focused in to forever die.
Starcraft 2 was now the default board, Starcraft 1 was forgotten or EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND. Seriosuly. It's two TINY buttons on the left (worst spot to be seen on screen) that look more like a decorative thing than actual real buttons to switch games.
When new people started to show up asking for SC1 content, there was nothing to be seen, some left, some asked where were all tutorials then SEN did its part. Called them retards, stupids, whatnot, because they couldn't see a tiny button that was purposedly there to NOT be seen. So with such an hostile attitude people just left.
When I retired and came back to check on SEN and saw so many "WHERE IS SC1 STUFF?!?!?!one" topics I just knew I had succesfully killed SEN by reviving it.
IS THIS TRUE? IS THIS FALSE? COULD I HAVE REALLY PLANNED ALL THAT?
You will never know! It certainly is, though a...
