well im tryna to make a map its been awhile since ive used SCMDraft2 but i dont remeber it ever freezeing on me before

its only happening when i try to blend soon as i use the terrain Tileset Index i get like 2 squares down and the next click freezes the whole program every single time ive tryed reinstalling it and i have auto save and backup turned off

any1 that knows anything that could help would be greatly appreciated

o yea iso terrain and everything else works fine i can even copy terrain off anouther map and paste all day long just not make my own blends

Make sure you have the latest version of SCMDraft. It can be found here. I know that sometimes when I tried to edit space terrain, it would crash on me for no reason. It could be possible that the map is corrupted in some way, so you could open and save it in Staredit to remove any corruption, and then try editing it again in Scmdraft. If you do that and the problem still persists, you could post the map here for us to see.

its not just 1 map its all maps the map im currently working on is from scratch

Latest SCMDraft would be the first thing to confirm, might also be helpful to know what OS you're on.

Pretty sure SCMDraft loads it's tile and unit pictures from the stardat and broodat archives (located in your starcraft folder), it's possible that one specific tile SCMDraft is trying to load is corrupted, causing the crash when you try to scroll that tile into view...

While I don't mark that explanation particularly likely, reinstalling and re-updating starcraft would solve the problem if that happened to be the case - first confirm that you have the version of SCMDraft linked in the above post.

I have a freezing problem on my laptop (but not my desktop); not sure why it happens, but it only freezes for 30 seconds to upwards of 2 minutes. Do you experience freezing when you are placing terrain near the edge of a map? Does it happen when placing locations near the edge as well? If so, we experience the same problem. In any case, I couldn't figure out how to mitigate the freezing issue, but I hadn't put much time into it, either.

I have the same OS (Windows 7 SP1) on my desktop and laptop, so that's not likely to be the reason. The only real significant difference between the two is that my desktop has significantly more power behind it, and that I used the downloadable installer from Blizzard's site to install SC.

You can try downgrading SCMDraft to an older version like the stable version of 0.8.0b (found on Stormcoast Fortress; note that the 0.8.0 in that list is not the latest version), but upgrading to the latest (which is the only version I use) will probably not solve the problem. Getting a fresh install of SC like jjf suggested would be a good place to start.

yes i was working in the cornor of my map so by the edge alot! It will also do it when i try to drag terrain out, not iso just 1x1....and im on windows vista

i reinstalled everything from the link and it seems alil more stable though it still dose it more then id like but atleast i can do something guess ill just save ALOT

I also experience freezing when I'm trying to do terrain on the edges of the map but I fixed it by closing out SC actually

That happens to me all the time. It's on-off, and only happens on my 64bit Vista desktop, so I just take care around edges and save often.
