You're obviously not getting any of my points, so I'm just going to withdraw from the forum. If you think it should be legalized, create a political party or something. Also, please don't claim others' interpretations of situations are wrong because they have no hard data when you cite none yourself. I find you disagreeable to debate with. I had a conversation with a friend of mine who smokes MJ and he was much more cogent and relevant about this stuff than you while supporting the same position, so I'm out of this.
I withdraw any compliments I have previously attributed to you, and I have a very strong inclination to put down "pot-head" six thousand times, but I'll just let you know I had the inclination instead. Good luck with your arguments.
Good for you! Start an argument and don't finish it. Way to dismiss my intelligent response to your claims. I still have yet to put you down, do you know why? Because I use rational argument.
I need not cite when I use knowledge of my own or when you don't ask. If you had, maybe I would have given you a reliable source on whatever you may be in disbelief over.
You're obviously not getting any of my points, so I'm just going to withdraw from the forum.
Now honestly, who's fault is that?
None.
I am compelled to add one more tid-bit: I know from smoking marihuana that marihuana use can create the most important and powerful senses of community, acceptance and pleasure. It brings one of the most important senses of community and friendliness ever experienced. I know that a planet with legalized marihuana will be a pleasant place.
What do people think about marihuana? Why do we have such "Fear of a Green Planet"? Why isn't it legal? How can we legalize it? How do we combat harmful propaganda such as
Above the Influence? Anything besides your complacence?
(I didn't read anything past the first two posts yet)
This is a terrible thought. Now, I'm not an expert on this matter, but I believe marijuana gets people, "high." Would you want people to live their lives high every day? This is tremendously asinine. The first connection that came to my mind was Resident Evil. That would be like changing Humanity for the worse. Impeding progress and destroying the purity of our race. I hope that last line doesn't sound too complacent.

Err.. he's not saying it's not to be regulated. Can you think of one reason why someone shouldn't smoke something with less negative side effects then tobacco inside their own home? Hell, I've been in rooms filled with cigar smoke. I hate cigarettes. They're more dangerous, they cause cancer to those nearby (I read somewhere that a smoker has a higher chance of giving someone he's often near while smoking lung cancer then himself - forgot how it's called, and I have no source, though). And please don't try to tell me that driving drunk is less dangerous then driving high.

Then you should probably read past the first two posts because all of your pitiful arguments against legalization are answered.

No, I agree with you. I believe the only reason cigar/ettes are still around is because they are almost like tradition. People have been smoking for decades, but drugs have been around half as long.

I support any movent involving the use of marijuana. It has many benefits and no serious direct harms result from it (except possibly from the few (many) individuals who cause problems, harm, dangers, and pretty much give a bad name associated with the plant). Politicians who are against the plant are in for a long battle against the growing population in support and with growing knowledge about this particular plant who would rather see it flourish due to it's competetive uses as fiber and fuel among other things. It's not just a drug. It's a solution.

Truthfully, I assumed marijuana
did cause an addiction. You go into withdrawal after prolonged use (at least according to those health books). Also, I believe it causes disorientation (again, those health books) so operating machinery is a hazard as is simply being around other people. And I seriously doubt the only reason it's illegal is because of the "corrupt corporations" that you speak of in every thread. All in all, you really don't have me convinced that it should be legal. Cigarettes are bad enough.

Decades you say? Try centuries.
Regarding the post above me: Cannabis is not physically addictive, such as cigarettes, and while one can experience withdrawal symptoms from anything one is addicted to, for instance pop or nintendo, it's no where near the symptoms of withdrawal from a physically addictive substances like Nicotine or Heroin.
And those who give pot a bad name by doing stupid stuff high are just as stupid while sober as well.

Cigarettes are worse than weed. You aren't convinced? That means you still don't understand. Because if you did, you would think it should be legal.

There are two sections that should be viewed when thinking about the legalization of marijuana. First, it's uses as hemp (thousands of uses). Second, personal consumption (my favourite). I like to think deep when i'm under the influence (very dangerous to society)
.
The problem is, there are facts stating that there are the same amount of chemicals in marijuana smoke than in cigarrette smoke. The same respriory health risks as cigarrettes. The contradicton is, nobody has ever been diagnosed with cancer solely from marijauana let alone died. To further the contradiction, there have been studies stating that use of marijuana can actually
reduce the risk of cancer. Well then...
