Details:
Begins: July 8th (Sunday)
Length: 1 Week (Turn maps in by midnight PST Saturday the 14th)
Genre: None

Create a fresh map on the start date and turn it in by the end of the last day. Participants should also plan their time wisely so that they can get their map done by the time it's due.

No Teams
Some (minimal) recycling from old maps allowed (play fair)
Participants should either livestream themselves when they map or upload their map at the end of each day.

The Prize:
Oh_Man has offered to judge the maps and put up a prize of ~$100.

How will I get it?
Quote from Oh_Man
After I choose the winner send me the details I will ask for and then it will get shipped out to your address/PO box.
I will make every stage of the process visible (I can black out personal info) so no one can accuse me of foul play if something goes wrong.

Why only one prize?
Quote from Oh_Man
This is only a 1 week competition so I am not expecting very much from it and my prize reflects that. 3 months of mapping is a bigger commitment from mappers so I would have offered bigger prizes. The way I see it, it is like gambling. I am offering up this in the hope that it will be recouped as a bunch of fun maps to play.

What will increase my chance of winning?
Quote from Oh_Man
* Don't make a shit map.
* Actually finish the map. I'm sick of seeing strings of incomplete maps that had so much potential.
* Innovation can be good but a really polished map with zero innovation can be just as good if not better.

May the odds be ever in your favor (or something).

I will judge or participate. I will also supply the second and third places, if there are any, with mineral rewards of 300 and 200 respectively.

I'm in. I'll give all my minerals at the end date to the winner. I plan on winning so that's a safe offer :)

My name is Church.

My skin messed up the title image.

Anyway, I'm going to participate. You can expect the most high quality mapping experience since TANKS.

I'm considering including the following Sunday in the days you can work on your map. So it would be technically 8 days (Sunday July 8th to July 15th) and you would have to turn it in at the end of Sunday the 15th instead of Saturday the 14th.

Opinions?

This was my initial thought. Feels more "full circle" this way.
Also, I'm down.

Any particular reason why? I'm all for it as I'll be busy on one, maybe two of those days so an extra day means I'll have a full 7 days to work on my map.

Simply because its one more day that most people have off to work on it.

That seems alright, should be nice to have a full weekend to finish it off.

I agree. It feels better.

duble postin

Is it okay if my submission is already planned out completely, as far as gameplay and plot go? I have absolutely 0% physical map work, voice work, or music work done; I just have an outline.

Back* from the grave

Throw me in. I've got nothing so far, but this captures my attention span.

Though if you're extending it to include the second Sunday, why not just push the start date back one day?

We should get a mineral pool going for runners up.

Everyone send me their minerals... I will dole it out once the contest is over.
