I don't understand the color coding you guys are using ..
green = correct, red = wrong ... yellow = maybe? gray = wat
All of these are bullshit. In every list I an apply the things it says to me. ;o

Didn't you get the memo?
No, I got the memo .. I actually have it right here. You see, I just forgot.
What I would like to see is one of these where instead it has a huge list of all of the traits and asks if you feel you agree or disagree (You do/like/have ...), and
then tells you what month you are born in and the traits commonly associated with it.
We could turn this in to a research project! Make it so you respond, and it finds a best guess and then adjusts results accordingly, like the Akinator ... Though an exhaustive list of traits would be impossible to come up with, and I expect the results to be inconclusive because I don't believe month influences personality. ;o

Inconclusive results don't matter - get a small enough sample size and the combination of statistical error and granularity of data is sure to yield fun deviations from statistically "perfect" results.
Fun!
Plus I just love anything to do with data collection and graphs and charts and and and
I demand you do this since you have a website.
None.
Me, Oh_Man, rayNimagi, and Tempz were all born on February 29th, which doesn't exist 3/4s of the time. So Other. Personally I celebrate my birthday on December 32nd, like every reasonable person should.
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Or they just don't know their birthmonth.

Have you all ever heard of the
Forer effect? It explains the accuracy of horoscopes, personality tests, etc.
I can apply a large amount of the characteristics listed in the Hindu birthmonth personality list to myself, from any month, because of the Forer effect.
Red classic.

My result with this test is
18/19
(27) (18 correct, 1 wrong, 27 total => 8 too broad to be counted)
And to validate the result I repeated the test with the traits from 3 months I wasn't born in and got
13/23
(34),
8/16
(26) and
14/22
(25)Clearly the trend is that the one of my birth month is more accurate. Could be coincidence, so I also did one for my mum and got
8/11
(26). I had to skip several traits because I'm not talking about her thoughts with her.
Has reputation (Yeah, right)
Honest (If I got something accidentally shipped to me twice and only got charged once, I probably wouldn't tell the company)
Concern about people's feelings (Apathy)
- You have a reputation here. But really I'd treat it as too broad because everyone has some reputation.
- I'd be surprised if you actually weren't an honest person (despite your claim). Not contacting a company about a mistake is a little too abstract to count imo. I'd judge it from a personal perspective and there I'd trust you to be honest, with me, for example.
- You show a lot of consideration to not to treat others unfairly on this forum. And that's on the Internet where there's no need to care for others.
With these corrections you got a
9/20
There really might be a cultural influence, seeing your bad results. This is interesting. I'd be interested in more samples.
Also Sac, you got
5/11. Greys don't count as wrong.
@Jack: We already discussed that you have to be careful not to fall for too broad traits. (Marked grey)

I consider it a bunch of nonsense, no offense Nude.
None taken (how could I, considering these results). Actually I'm intrigued how it works for me and people I know personally but not for you guys.
April here. Im just a fan of that time of year. Finally getting over winter...
None.

Probably has to do with the fact we limit the definitions more strictly due to awareness of the Forer Effect (as Jack pointed out). It's like a spiritual medium telling a room full of people she's getting a connection from someone very close named John.
I greyed the ones out because they weren't directly contradictory, but more of a neutral or apathetic category. If I said you like oranges and you felt kinda meh about them, that would be a miss. So yeah, the greys are a miss.
None.
I don't think astrology is real...but I can't be the only person who checks their compatibility with other people based on their zodiac signs.
amirite?

Except that spirtual medium didn't even belive in spirits and got convinced by evidence. I AM very critical in what I deem a hit and what a miss. As evident by the comparison with other months.
If you say anything too broad is automatically a miss then it doesn't work. These analyses are not meant to be scientific proof and thus contain these broad traits to appear even more legit to the masses. You gotta ignore those if you want to validate/invalidate anything.

- Well, if you do anything, you have a reputation for what you did. I agree that I should have marked it as too generic.
- Well, when I saw my computer case and monitors get shipped twice ($500 value), I was thinking of keeping the extras or giving them to other people as gifts. I really didn't want to contact the shipper because I wanted to keep the items. As it turns out, they just gave me two trackers on a duplicate invoice (I guess they initially planned to ship them together under one tracker, but thought it was too much weight). What I would have actually done is speculative, of course.
- That's because I embrace equality and fairness above almost all else. It's a real shame I didn't see that on my list of traits. Though yes, I'm not a heartless monster.
You have surprisingly high scores, though. It certainly does provoke the "what are the odds" kind of attitude, and I'm sure I'd have a similar opinion on the subject if it proved to be as successful for my environment.
Anyway, July is where it's at.
I'll bite.
Personality traits for July Month
Fun to be with <-- No.
Secretive <-- Yes.
Difficult to fathom and to be understood <-- Due to my disabilities, yes.
Quiet unless excited or tensed <-- I am very loud when I get angry. Everything else I don't talk.
Takes pride in oneself <-- I have nothing to be proud about.
Has reputation <-- Yes; all negative.
Easily consoled <-- No. No one can console me because no one knows me.
Honest <-- I am probably the most honest person you'll ever meet.
Concern about people's feelings <-- Haven't met a person I can be concerned about yet (HKS is an impenetrable wall of mental fortitude)
Tactful <-- Not sure what this refers to, so I'll say yes.
Friendly <-- No.
Approachable <-- If I was it hasn't happened yet.
Very emotional <-- I hide it well.
Temperamental and unpredictable <-- Yes.
Moody and easily hurt <-- Depends on the subject. On the internet it's pretty much impossible to touch me. But there's experiences I've endured in real life that I will never, ever be free of. Wounds that cannot heal. The pain triggers very easily.
Witty and sarky <-- I don't think I have strong enough vocabulary to be considered witty. What is sarky?
Sentimental <-- Not sure how this is applied...
Not revengeful <-- I am vengeful and hold grudges for a lifetime.
Forgiving but never forgets <-- It takes a great deal to be forgiven by me. Most people will never be forgiven.
Dislike nonsensical and unnecessary things <-- 50/50. Depends on the subject.
Guides others physically and mentally <-- I like to think I could do this but I really can't. I have no vocabulary and no empathy. I can't even guide myself.
Sensitive and forms impressions carefully <-- My first impressions almost always hold out to be true. I don't need to be careful because people are not complex.
Wary and sharp <-- I think so.
Judge people through observations <-- Interaction with people is avoided at all costs in person.
Hardworking <-- Absolutely not. I am as lazy as lazy can be.
No difficulties <-- Life is as difficult as life could be without being completely fucked physically (e.g. third world conditions). I will die a slow and painful death and nothing I desire to do will ever succeed. Time is borrowed at great cost.
The points are so general it's a very obvious and formulaic layout.
Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

This is not a bad thing.
It warms my heart to see that I am not the only one who must champion reason and logic to the those who would actually believe this nonsense.
