Is it possible to give a liftoff function to the firebat like a jet pack?
None.
I haven't modded SC in many years. I'm sure it's possible, but it would seem easier if you made it like a siege tank, where they actually change unit IDs. You should look more into how siege tanks work, I hope you can figure it out from there.

@OP: Didn't notice this thread until just now! It should be possible; you can build units from an SCV or w/e, and it's possible to give other /structures/ Liftoff iirc. Are you still doing this? Because if so I can do a bit of experimentation and get back to you on how to set it up.
...However, Siege Tanks are probably a better way to do it, unless you used them up. Or, if you'd like the jetpacking Firebat to still be targetted as a land unit, I can make a plugin for that.

Actually it'd be easier to just give the actual lift off command via Firegraft since you really don't have to mess with anything.
Sieging is weird. And you'll probably have to use a memory edit on firegraft (I remember there was a siege related flag) and you'll run into crashes because there's no script for every unit's siege phase.
Lift off iscript = no problem there as it just used frames 2,3,4,5 which almost every single unit has. Not sure if you'll have to edit the iscript anyway to add the siege opcode. Probably will have to.

how do u add a hero unit to the barracks btw? i need that for the jetpack guy.

You use Firegraft to add the specific hero's button to the Barracks setup. It's in the button scheme. All you do is paste as new into the list, select the number slot you wish, preferably one that isn't taken, and fill out the lists on the side like the other training buttons have, only with the data for your jetpack guy.
If you want him to have specific training requirements displayed, I suggest you fill out an unused position in TblPad to serve as it. That's what I've been doing.
Unless you want to replace a unit, then you just select which one you want to replace, and then swich out his stuff in the accompanying lists, and you can replace his data in TblPad.

You also need to update the requirements. Go into the reqs for the unit you want the Barracks to train, and put /at least/ "Current Unit Is... Barracks". You'll also presumably want "Is Not Training Or Morphing" and "Is Not Lifted Off" or w/e, and possibly one or more Must Have... opcodes if you want him to need another structure (or unit, for that matter).

Yea I know the requirements part...in fact I thought that was all...
