You're not going to fail enough hover checks to warrant wasting a feat, I guarantee it.

K, we'll see.

I've ordered a hard copy of the core rulebook, it should arrive tomorrow.

This, seriously. I know you think you'll be flying a lot somehow, but this is a huge waste of a feat. I'm guessing you're planning on staying in an animal form as long as possible, but that's probably not the best way to go about it. When it comes to flying in particular, I've been playing D&D for years and years and I've never seen anyone use any skill associated with flying more than a few times in a campaign. And that includes playing with a guy whose character had wings and floated 3 feet off the ground at all times. Given that you ultimately have a limited number of feats that you can learn, this should not be a priority.

Except I'm planning on flying and stopping midair quite often, pending build tweaks.
For what purpose? And if that's the case, then you're already putting the max ranks into the fly skill anyway, making this feat even more useless for you. :/

EDIT:
You probably already have this bookmarked but just in case, this might be helpful: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-filter

Still Napping

The world is high-fantasy, but I should make some points regarding psionics, which are allowed under a few conditions. First, psionics are not native to the plane. PC psionics should originate from other planes.

Psionics are virtually nonexistant in the world, so taking a psionic class is not possible without first traveling to another plane and finding some way to unlock latent powers. This also means everyone native to the plane receives a -5 penalty for checks to determine knowledge (psionics). At the same time, psionics receive a -5 penalty for checks to determine knowledge (local). This penalty is waived for planar natives who then take a class in psionics.

It doesn't look like anyone is taking them anyways, although I guess it's good to know in case they decide to in later levels.

Honestly, it's near-impossible to know exactly what is and isn't actually good until you've actually played. :P Also, everyone, it's important to remember that our objective isn't making the most OP broken characters possible and WINNING ALL THE DNDS, it's having fun! :}

I can accurately gauge PC's abilities. Don't think because you're ECL is 3 you'll be going up against stuff for that ECL.

Hey, Guys. (BlueWolf directed me here)

I'd like to offer a hand with getting things set up, especially character-wise. I've been a tabletop rpg player for over 10 years, am very familiar with Pathfinder, and love introducing new people to the hobby.

If you would like some help the easiest way to contact me at the moment is on Steam, my account is: wZeroZeroT (display is Pieh).

@Jack: On the Silent Spell feat - Your animal form would also have trouble with Somatic components (Hand Gestures) and would need Still Spell as well.

Every Spell has a series of components noted in it. Standard types are Verbal (Must be able to speak clearly, 20% chance to fail if Deafened), Somatic (Must have at least one free hand), Material (Ingredients to the spell, most are costless and assumed on hand most of the time, some do have to be specifically bought, these are considered consumed in the casting), Focus (Similar to Material, though not consumed with the casting of the spell), and Divine Focus (Something to channel divine powers through, like a cleric's Holy Symbol or usually a Spring of Holly for a Druid, not consumed).

Natural spell covers the Verbal, Somatic, and allows you to make use of any Materials or Focus while it is melded with your animal form.

Want to DM a no-preparation campaign while Sac takes the rest of eternity to build his? :P

Mar 15 2012, 3:35 am Pieh Post #133

Well, no-preparation rarely leads to anything that I would consider a campaign... But if people have their characters done and want to test them out, we can talk about setting a time for me to run a short module.

EDIT: I should note that I am interested in playing Sac's game myself. Though, I'm hesitant without knowing a day/time. I'll make a character anyway. Not sure what just yet, but I'll let you know soon.

No preparation as in something you throw together in a couple days. I'd at least like to get started on something sooner than July.

Ok, yeah, I can manage something. I would suggest people use their current characters, to avoid having to redo the process and so they can get a feel for them, though they would be required to forfeit anything accumulated during my adventure (xp, loot, etc).

I've finished my character: Jaben Fobanks, Gnomish Sorcerer.

Sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=380942

I'm heading to bed now, sheet should be complete (had some issues with class skills auto calculations but the numbers should be right now).

I can be prepared to run something pretty short notice, it wont be spectacular but it'll be something. In the near future, the only day I'm totally unavailable is Friday. Start talking about a time/date people.

My Friday night is booked, too, but Saturday and Sunday are good for me. Have any preferences for the medium to play through?

When playing over the internet, I prefer something easily accessible and simplistic. I'm honestly not highly informed on IRC workings, but it seems like a good choice. I like text, with whispers, and a public die roller. I saw that Skype was being considered as an option for Sac's game, that could work too. I'm just not sure about the dice situation.

This weekend is a little too short notice for me, and the first one since I've confirmed I'm moving to a new apartment and will likely involve some light moving, so the weekend of the 24th (Sat) - 25th (Sun) sounds like a good plan. Time is negotiable (I'm EST, just so you know), and if someone can get me information the workings of IRC (basic commands, die rolling, etc) I would appreciate it.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Schedule:
Busy during normal work hours, EDT
Busy Tuesday, Wednesday (Until easter)
Busy every other saturday evening
My character was designed to say "fuck you guys, I'm going home".

IRC would likely be best, as it's just chat. Skype could work if we all have mics, but often I like typing better than talking as it's easier to understand.
