http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/StarCraft_(series)I am currently in the process of writing an encyclopedia article on StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War
Anyone who is interested please join in.
I don't think I am quite knowldgeable about all the interesting and popular maps that were played on battle.net and fish server.
I also don't know much about the hack programs.
Thanks.

I lol'd quite heavily.
What kind of information are you looking for specifically? I mean I doubt you want a technical manual explaining how the hacks work, and there aren't a whole lot of notable popular maps out there (both good AND popular)

Here you go.Don't put information about hacks in your wiki. There's no point in giving information about bullshit that destroys the game.
I am not short on anything that is in the Wikipedia article. There is nothing about custom maps, map editors, and hacks.
I'd like to know how these hacks worked, and how certain patches got rid of some of them, and when they became available and present them in chronological/documentary format.
It would even be better if someone at the forum were to actually write about these topics than just providing summaries that I must put in my own words.

I'll just point out that Citizendium allows anyone who is knowledgeable about a topic can write down everything they know about it. In contrast Wikipedia frowns on original research and requires topics to be notable and facts to be sourced.

Reading it will give you the jist of the info you need. The 2nd link is about starcraft's graphics/gameplay during alpha and beta phases. The 3rd link is for something i think everyone should know about starcraft. It was turned into a course in collage. The 4th link is on notable players. The 5th link is on Korea (starcraft center of the world) and starcraft.
Hope this helped.

The first article on team liquid has quite a lot of author bias, as well as some strange things that just aren't true: "The units "talked" (just like in Warcraft 2, but this is rare even for games published in 2005...)" and the talk about Insurrection and Retribution is completely wrong - Blizzard didn't make them, it was a separate company that (I believe) paid a small license to Blizzard to be able to create and sell the map packs. Blizzard eventually withdraw the licenses and stopped issuing more after they decided to release Brood War, out of fear of competition.

Well It is biased but its the best we got... if someone would want to filter out the bias that would be great otherwise don't use it lol. But tbh you easily filter out the biased if know enough.
