I'll give you a little insider tip, since the mafia will know this by the time they read the post: I'm the Scientist in this story. I dare anyone to counter-claim.
The ship's makeshift bar was filled to the brim this evening. This would be unusual on any other night, but given the circumstances it seemed appropriate.
No clues here, I'm pretty sure.
Two men sat at the bar, not really interacting much. One kept eyeing the other, though. Clearly something's on his mind. "You're one of Baltar's lab guys, right?," he asked. It seemed like this was small talk compared to what he'd rather discuss.
I want to say the eying bit is a descriptive phrase that would point to an avatar, but it seems I would be the most likely candidate for that...
It sounds like the small talk bit is referring to some night action, although it's more likely just storytelling leading up to the discussion about Baltar's machine.
"Yep. The lab coat gave it away, I assume?" They laughed and took sips from their glasses.
"So Baltar's machine. It does actually work, right?" It seemed like the man was finally getting to the point.
The lab technician looked ahead for a second, took another gulp of his drink, and finally turned to the other man. "Yeah, flawlessly." He turned back to the bar and continued to drink.
The look ahead part is almost out-of-place and carefully placed into the scenario, which makes me think it has meaning. My primary thought is that since the technician is me, it's referring to looking ahead on the sign-up list from my position. I don't know if this would be chronologically before or after my name, so if it's a clue, it could be pointing to either Azrael or Aristocrat.
"I haven't seen you around this bar before. Actually I don't ever see many of you science guys here, but I guess tonight is special." He smiled at the man in the lab coat, but got no response. Before going back to his drink, he noticed a beautiful woman enter the bar area, someone else he'd never seen before. "What do you think about her?"
The lab technician looked at the women and then back to his inquisitor. "She looks deadly. At least an 8."
Now here's where I think a clue lies. It's natural to look at numbers to try and interpret clues, and I'm sure Devlin knows this. That's why I'm going to say that the number 8 is a distraction, and the actual clue here is the word "deadly." Deadly, or referring to death, is encapsulated in both my avatar as well as Vrael's. However, if you think the 8 is the clue, xAngelSpiritx is player #8.
The woman walked up to an occupied table and stood there for a few seconds waiting for the occupant to notice her. When he finally did, he immediately had to stop everything he was doing. She was too gorgeous to ignore.
"This seat taken?," she coyly asked. She was met with no response as the man couldn't figure out what to say. "How about you and I go back to my cabin, 780, and I'll keep you up all night."
Nothing could counter her charm. She took his hand and quickly led him out of the bar.
For clarity, I was only pretending to be seduced as I went undercover to try to find the Cylons.
It's odd that she asks if the seat is taken only to immediately offer they leave the area.
I don't know what's up with the numbers that are being thrown around in this theme, but if you want to count this as a clue, Dem0nS1ayer's ID is 786, which is pretty close to 780.
"Can you believe that crap? That dork leaves with a woman like that? What the frak is the world coming to?" The voyeur seemed to be completely trashed in the corner of the bar, and had been blurting out his thoughts without having an audience. He signaled to the bartender to bring him another drink.
If Farty was playing, I'd pin this one on him. Does anyone else have a habit of talking to themselves in the shoutbox? Maybe it's a reference to Tempz's outlandish accusations.
Also on a side note, OlimarandLouie is always the Bartender.
"How many have you had so far?," NudeRaider asked from a nearby table, somewhat annoyed.
Something else that could point to Tempz. It stated that the man had no audience, but apparently he did if Nude was listening long enough to be annoyed. Tempz mentioned in this thread that my logic amazed and annoyed him.
"Perhaps more than I should." He laughed. "I'm really not looking forward to the trial thing tomorrow. You get selected for it?" The drunk was suspiciously inquisitive. NudeRaider just nodded. "That's good, man, real good. I like that regular guys like us can take part. I mean, we gotta have a say in this stuff, too, right? None of the elites telling us what to do." NudeRaider kept quiet and didn't bother responding. "Alright, man, I can take a hint. I'll leave you alone. Gotta get up early for the thing anyway." The drunk struggled to stand, and hobbled up to his new-found friend. He quickly covered NudeRaider's mouth and slid a knife into his side. The cacophony in the bar seemed to prevent anyone from hearing his muffled screams. All anyone could see was the drunk accidentally falling on the guy he had been talking to.
NudeRaider's dead body was finally noticed long after the drunk left.
First off, who the fuck killed Nude? He was complaining about how he usually dies on the first night in mafia. I think this is a behavioral clue that the Cylons are assholes.
The first part is probably hinting at Nude's role. The man is saying they're regular guys, but Nude doesn't reply. This could be indicative that Nude was a Quorum Member or some other political power role.
New-found friend could refer to Nude's alliances. He mentioned he had three trustworthy people the other day. I don't know if Devlin knew Nude's alliances, but if he did, then this could be an explicit clue tying them together.
And while I doubt Devlin would recycle one of my clues, I thought it was pretty clever to reference Raitaki's avatar by mentioning that his mouth is covered.
Dr. Cottle was talking to a few of his assistants when the call came in regarding the dead body at the bar. "I'll take this one myself. I could use a drink," he decided.
Moments after Cottle was out the door, a man walked into the medical bay. He scanned the room and finally found the person he was looking for.
"Sir, would you mind coming with me?," he asked.
The man he was asking chuckled to himself. "That's really interesting," he finally responded while picking up his personal effects.
"Would you mind if I tag along?," asked one of the man's colleagues. He was clearly going to follow one of them regardless of the response.
Sounds like the Security Officer picked someone up. The tag-along must have been the Bodyguard, and while it is written to be ambiguous, I will assume the Bodyguard and Security Officer had the same night target. I'm guessing the targeted person was Azrael.Wrath, because who else would get two power roles to target him on the first night?
Voyager7456 had nothing to do this evening, but assumed he would have his work cut out for him tomorrow. After packing up for the night, he began walking down the hall to his room.
"Hey, you got a second?," asked a man behind briskly walking up behind him. As Voyager7456 turned around, he was met with a gun pressing up to his chest. "It's nothing personal."
A crewmember down the hall was startled by the sound of gunshots coming from down the hall. When he arrived, he found Voyager7456's dead body.
The phrase is just a little bit of extra information that didn't really describe the scenario any further. I'm at a loss for what it could mean, though, if it's a clue. Maybe Zycorax's avatar, which is a cartoon, which you can cut out of a newspaper? Yeah, silly; I know.
It seems that he was trying to imply he was the Bomb by an earlier post, which I don't believe. This claim behavior is all-too familiar, my friend.
